Zune Not Getting Started

So yesterday my zune was working fine nothing unusual at all. when i wake up this morning and try to turn it on nothing happens no matter what i pressed nothing would turn the screen on. so i plugged it into my xbox thinking maybe the battery was dead. but then when i plug it in the screen comes on, the battery is almost full. so i unplugged it and the second i unplug it the screen shuts off and i cant do anything again. all day it has progressively gotten worse now when i plug my zune into anything all it does is go to the reboot screen and shuts down goes back to the reboot screen and repeats that cycle. once and a while the restart will actually work and the zune will come on but then if i try to unplug it, it turns right back off. Ive tried resetting it and all that but its not working and ive tried formatting it but i cant considering none of the buttons will respond...... How to solve this problem

i plug in my zune to my computer and all i see is barely the red battery sign on the screen. eventually it slowly fades away and it's black screen again.... it was working just fine until it turns off on me

I've already replaced the hard drive & battery 5mos ago. Now it starts up then when I press any button, the screen slowly fades to a blank screen. The backlight sometime is on. But once in a while it will startup again to do the same fading all over again. I've had it work a few times in between fadings.

SOURCE: ZUNE 30GB Zune Music... Problem

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

SOURCE: Zune

To reset the zune you must press and hold the back button and the top part of the zune pad. Other parts of the zune pad will not work.

When plugging the zune into your PC does the PC detect it (device manager -> portable devices). You should hear the ding sound of hardware connecting.

If it is connecting to the PC and is not detected by the software than it is likely a permissions problem. Right click the software icon and choose run as administrator.

If it is not detected by the PC than check your usb cable and make sure your zune is charged and not frozen.

Want to put music back on my zune,it wouldn't sinc,

May have to reset the zune to factory default settings...

Try this....
Reset Zune: Press and hold the back button while pressing up on the control pad.
Connect Zune to a power source: If the Zune device is in sleep mode, this action will wake the Zune device and turn it on. If the battery does not have a charge, you may have to wait several minutes for the Zune device to turn on.

Also, make sure that the hold button on top of your zune is turned to the off position.

Hope this helps!

My zune stopped working and now will not turn on

I figured out the solution by just getting upset.
Hold the Back arrow (<-) and Up on the touch pad and it will restart the Zune. This works for the 8gig and 80gig Zune.

Zune

Try resetting the Zune by holding the up and back keys until it restarts (probably about 10 seconds) and then try to plug it into the computer again.

My zune wont turn on

I turned on my Zune and the screen froze so I turned it off but it would not turn back on.

I went online and read somewhere that if the screen freezes then you should press up and back and wait for the zune insignia to come on. Well my zune was not just frozen it would not go on but I tried the up and back thing and it worked. it took about 9-13 seconds but it worked so give it a chance and if that doesn't work try charging it overnight. Hope that helps :D
