SOURCE: paper wont feed

It's just one of four things............

1. The paper is not loaded correctly on the correct path.

2. The paper is loaded correctly on the correct path but the "PAPER PATH" selected in the printer driver box or printer preference or application used is not set correctly to grab the paper from the correct path.

3. The paper path sensor is defective which means that the printer needs to be taken to a servicer or you need to contact epson for warranty options

4. The paper being used is too thick for the printer to feed it

SOURCE: Fisher & Paykel top load intermittent running

Check your water pump... When they get wet or leak, they will shut down the machine control. If you wait too long you will blow out your machine control completely. You most likely need a new water pump and it is easy to replace with no tools needed. Your part number is a 420325P and you can get one from Fisher Paykel Parts direct:

SOURCE: canon pc 420 paper feeds only part way

I had the same problem. I found a parts diagram here http://techno-parts.org/canon/220/320_220.php which showed that the springs hold the bar down. On mine, on each side, one of the spring tabs was broken.

I made a metal pin for one side and insert a screw on the other. Be sure and wrap the spring over the nylon bushing.

Im using ricoh 2045..Paper jam occurs at point A1 (the lever the drops to remove the paper) . I have noticed roller A1 and registration roller doesn't rotate. When i remove the paper and close the covers...

this is not a thought I am 100% sure and give you the correct solution:
problem with the paper feeding section is dusty or due to developer drooping
1. Open the developer unit and check the rear side developer unit bush one or two bush are faulty
and drop the developer.
2. remove all paper trays with remove the four each screws
3. Remove the toner collection bottle
4. Remove the right side cover.
5. Remove paper left roller plate.(show in the picture)
6. Now remove the first tray paper feeding section(is a complete unit included paper feed rollers motor and clutch and gear section)
7. Clean the drooped developer from all gears and roller and motor section
8. remove the second and third tray paper feeding section and doing the same.
9. now fix it all
10. replace developer unit bush witch are faulty or if you don't have yet cut a plastic sheet and past the upper side of first paper feeding unit gears witch are don't disturb the paper path and stop the developer drooping on the gear good_help.pnggood_help_0.png

Paper doesn't feed from inside on XD 100 work center (10 years old, lightly used). Despite a full paper drawer, I get the "out of paper" error message.  I can copy by feeding through the back.

On this machine, the feed rollers might be worn down.
Not seeing the machine and by the description. there can also be other possible problem areas, deep in the machine itself.
Does the paper feed partially out?
If it does not, are there paper black scuff marks where the rollers were trying to feed the paper.
Can you hear the solenoids feed the paper?
If the paper does feed and seems crooked, it is possible the paper tray springs need to be stretched out just a little to push the paper tray plate more on the feed rollers.
Make sure the tray is completely up in the latched position so the feed wheels will touch the paper stack itself.
If you have a two paper tray, make sure you tell the machine what size paper you have for each tray.
Run paper in each tray.
Good luck.

My Brother HL 5250DN printer has started making a loud clicking sound when it tries to feed paper for printing. It then stops and the paper light starts flashing.

Clear the jammed paper as follows.
Observe Cautions signs in printer.
Always remove all paper from the paper tray and straighten the stack when you add new paper. This helps prevent multiple sheets of paper from feeding through the printer at one time and prevents paper jams.
1. Press the cover release button and then open the front cover.
2. Slowly take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. The jammed paper will be pulled out with the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.
3. Pull the paper tray completely out of the printer.
4. Close the front cover.
5. Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer.
6. Open the front cover again.
7. Open the back cover.
8. Pull the tabs at the left and right hand sides toward you to open the fuser cover (1).
9. Using both hands, gently pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit.
10. Close the back cover.
11. Pull the duplex tray completely out of the printer.
12. Pull the the jammed paper out of the printer or the duplex tray. Put the duplex tray back in the printer.
13. Push down the blue lock lever and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit. Clear the jammed paper if there is any inside the drum unit.
14. Put the toner cartridge back into the drum unit until you hear it lock into place. If you put the cartridge in properly, the blue lock lever will lift automatically.
15. Put the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back in the printer.
16. Put the paper tray firmly back in the printer.
17. Close the front cover.
18. Make sure that the Paper LED is now off and the printer is ready.
After clearing paper jam if noise persist printer may need a Repair Tech and parts replacement for broken or wore parts.

My yellow color is not printing. I change cartridge twice, run a few times cleaning process, but no even a dot of yellow color on the paper. What should I do?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. There are two step-by-step procedures to resolve the issue—

Procedure 1

  1. Turn off the printer and ensure that the print head is at its home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Power off the printer at the wall or by removing the power cable for at least 20 seconds;
  3. While you restore power to the printer at the wall socket or by reinserting the cable, if the lights come back on straight away, the printer’s power switch was ‘on’ - switch it off and return to step 1;
  4. Hold down the paper-feed button and the button with the ink-drops next to it, and then turn on the printer, still holding the buttons down;
  5. When the paper-out LED flashes, release the buttons;
  6. Press and hold the Cleaning button, until several lights flash - this will take a few seconds then release the button;
  7. The printer will now attempt to reset, including resetting the EEPROM memory and running a short (about 10 seconds) cleaning cycle.

Procedure 2

  1. Turn off the printer and ensure that the print head is at it’s home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Hold down the paper feed button only;
  3. Turn on the printer;
  4. As the paper feed light starts flashing, release the button;
  5. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for some 10-20 seconds or until the printer springs into life;
  6. Allow printer to complete its processing then turn it off for a few seconds and turn it again on.

By following any of the above step-by-step procedure, the printer will start printing normally.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

My canon printer/copier does not feed paper in machine. makes all the sound but wont feed. help

1. Try cleaning the paper feed rollers

Instructions how to clean the paper feed rollers.
If the paper feed rollers become dirty, they may not be able to properly feed paper due to the feed roller's slippage.
If paper does not feed correctly, perform the following to clean the paper feed rollers:
  1. Open the Printers folder.

    - For Windows XP Home Edition : Click/Select 'Start,' 'Control Panel,' 'Printers and Other Hardware,' and 'Printers and Faxes.

    - For Windows XP Professional Edition : Click 'Start' and 'Printers and Faxes.'

    - For Windows Vista : Click 'Start,' 'Control Panel,' 'Hardware and Sound,' and 'Printers.'

    - For Windows 2000 : Click/Select 'Start,' and 'Settings,' then 'Printers.'
  2. Right-click the icon of the printer for paper feed roller cleaning, and select 'Properties' from the displayed list.
  3. Click the 'Maintenance' tab and click 'Roller Cleaning'.

    Remove all sheets of paper from the rear tray, then click 'OK'.
  4. Confirm the message, and click 'OK'.
    Note: Clicking 'OK' will activate the paper feed rollers 30 times. This activation will take about 90 seconds. Do not perform other operations until this operation has finished.
  5. Confirm the message, and click 'OK'.

    After the continuous paper feeding operations in step 5 have finished, load three sheets of plain paper and click 'OK'.

  6. Confirm the message, and click 'OK'.

    Note: “Feed roller cleaning is completed” message is displayed when the paper is fed and ejected.

    Click 'OK'.
Roller Cleaning is completed.

Ativa DQ120D shredder

I had the same problem with my Shredded. In the centre of the paper feed slot is a little sensor that detects when you put paper in, it breaks some sort of light beam that is connected to the motor circuit.

Over time paper dust gathers on this sensor, covering it completely and fooling the machine to think that there is ALWAYS a piece of paper being fed into the shredder, the result being that the motor just runs continuously.

Clear the dust from this sensor and you'll fix this particular problem - a toothbrush worked great for me - don't use it to clean your teeth afterwards :-)
