Well put some gas in it man! No, seriously, a vehicle runs on the physics of three principles. Fuel, air and ignition or "explosion" of gases. You have eliminated two of these principles since the engine "starts" but will not stay running. Most likely because of it lacking "fuel" or the pressure thereof. Only two things to check. Fuel pump, and filter.

The damage is already done before you put the fuel filter in. (dirt in Carb)
Remove your carb and dissesemble it and clean everything out and then put back on the machine with FRESH gas and you will be fine...run like a top !

Your alarm may have lost the tach signal, that was learned to it, when it was originally installed. That would cause the remote start to try starting the vehicle over and over again, until it finally stays running, because it can't read the engine speed to know it's running.
If you can find the valet push button switch in your vehicle, try this; Start your car with the key and immediately after it starts, press and hold that valet push button switch until the alarm led on the dash stays lit up or the park lights flash. Then, release the valet switch, shut the car off and try remote starting it. That is the procedure to re-learn the tach signal. Hope it works for you.

Will it stay running if you keep the pedal depressed. If so you have a Idle Air Control valve issue. If it wont run at all it may be a bad fuel pump

It should stay running. If your alternator is bad it may not stay running but in all cases it should stay running.

sounds like you have a bad ECU unit. have it checked.
