My phone is unlocked to all networks originally it was a virgin mobile. im on orange pay as you go, i have changed the settings in accordance with orange. i can connect to the internet perfectly fine, but when i try to ring i get an unrecognised dial tone, it also wont let me send texts they end up stuck in the outbox. i have tryed master reset, switching it on and off etc nothing seems to do the trick.

I had the same issue. First, you have to identify if the problem is on the network side or on your handset. Call up the network provider's customer care service and find out if the text settings on your phone are apt. By settings i mean the service center number, 'circuit switched' 'packet switched' etc. If the settings are apt, and if you have enough text credit, the problem is with your mobile phone. Now, remove your sim card if its GSM and put it into another handset while you put another sim card in yours. Now, send text messages from each handset to the other, This will work fine. Once this is done, you can swap the sim cards again and the texts should work fine now. Best, k6
