Xerox 7300 won't power up

I acquired a non working xerox 7300. It had been left beside an open window and got wet. It was in good working order prior to this. When switched on the fan powers up but nothing else. I have replaced the Image Processing Board as it showed minor signs of burning. The led on it is now lighting. I have checked all the fuses on the engine control board and the voltages are correct. The display is still blank. Where should I go next?

SOURCE: Xerox F12 will not power up

There is a fuse in the power supply, That is located under the paper catch tray.Just look to the right of the on off switch, You will see 2 silver phillips screws in that cover. Remove those and pop the cover off, it will POP, there is a tab holding it in place, so it will have alittle resistance in removing it.
You also will have to remove 3 screws on the power supply shield to access the power supply. some have 1 some have 2 fuses. If the supply is bad. Google a business called " the parts drop". Give Britt a call, he is very good to deal with and will have that part.

SOURCE: Xerox Docuprint 3290FS colour multifunction black

Xerox does not list that model at all - are you sure the model number is correct ?
It would appear that either the cartridge or fuser may be defective.
Does the machine show any error codes at all ?

Here is a user manual for a similar model 3225 that may help under the troubleshooting section :

SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 7300 color misregistration

Apparently, turning the unit off for 30 seconds, then back on will force the Phaser 7300 to do a color alignment procedure (according to Xerox support).

Then, if the problem persists, you are instructed to follow a very detailed troubleshooting procedure which I will leave with you in the following link:

Xerox Phaser 7300 Misregistration Issues

I hope this helps!

Colour misregistration mystery

Various possible causes - the most likely are :
1. Dirty registration sensors - remove IUs and transfer unit and inspect / clean sensors.
2. Damages / worn IU drive gears - inspect. Replacing the gears isn't a small job, if this is your problem.
3. Faulty colour registration shutter - you can check this is working in the service diagnostics menu.
4. EEPROM problem on the controller board - replace main controller board.
These are in order of likeliness. For further information, take a look here.

I have a Xerox 7300 that I started using Media Sciences toner in. I have had to replace 3 imaging units recently because they have locked up. Now 2 are locked up again. Media Sciences says they have not...

Hi.

Xerox says instead that the user should never used non original or refurbished cartridges, as in a number of cases this had been proven capable of damaging parts like the imaging unit.

I am sorry for Media Science, but they do not even have permission given by Xerox to build compatible cartridges (Xerox Corporation Filed a Patent Violation Lawsuit Against Media ).

Cartridges that have not built and tested with full printer manufacturer cooperation cannot be free of problems.

Also, I know that the 7300 is probably out of warranty, but using this cartridges on a new printer may invalidate the warranty.
Media Science does not make itself responsible in case one of their cartridge has damaged a printer.

My suggestion is to use original cartridges in future.

Best regards.

Ginko.

False reading of toner cart status

Sounds to me like you actually have the wrong part number. There are more than one cartridge for the Xerox printers, They have different chips on them. One is for billable accounts, one or more than one for accounts that pay for prints. There also was as i remember a spring type clip they left off some cartridges.
So with what you have tried and the old cartridges work fine, strongly suspect bad carridges.
