If your watch is a "quartz" type and you have had it for some time (a year +?), then it seems likely that the battery has expired.
If it is still within the warranty period (usually a year), then it would be unusual for the battery to have died. Contact your local service agent to discuss it if this is the case.
Batteries are best replaced by an authorised dealer, it will cost more but this will ensure that that any water resistance is retained. Replacing the battery yourself can be more difficult that it appears so you are advised to go to a service agent.
