SOURCE: Printing a book from Word using duplex printing

In the Printing Preferences window, on the Page Setup tab, you have already selected Duplex Printing and Automatic. If your book is to be bound on the long side, you should have 'Long-side stapling . . ' selected in the window below that.

If that is what you have selected and the pages are printing wrong, try the 'Short-side stapling . . .' option.

Remote firmware update by using FTP through a browser
Complete the following steps to update the product firmware by using file transfer protocol (FTP) through a browser.
NOTE: The following instructions can be used on Windows or Macintosh operating systems.
Take note of the TCP/IP address on the EIO-Jetdirect page. The EIO-Jetdirect page is the second page of the configuration page printout.
Open a browser window.
In the address line of the browser, type ftp://<IPADDRESS>, where <IPADDRESS> is the TCP/IP address of the product. For example, if the TCP/IP address is 192.168.0.90, type FTP://192.168.0.90.
Locate the downloaded .RFU file for the product.
Drag and drop the .RFU file onto the PORT1 icon in the browser window.

The following describes how to upgrade firmware in the LaserJet 2400, P3005 and 5200 Series Printers using a USB connection only.
To send the firmware upgrade via USB, you will need to know the name of the computer the printer is connected to, and the printer will need to be shared.
=============================================
=============================================
To find out the name of your computer:
Click the Start button, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, then choose System Information.
You will find your computer’s name in the right window-pane next to System Name.
Write down this name as it will be needed later.
To share the connected printer:
Click the Start button, Settings , then choose Printers ("Printers and Faxes" on WinXP).
Right click on the printer you need to send the upgrade to and then choose Sharing.
On WinXP, if you encounter the following link "If you understand the security risks but want to share printers without running the wizard, click here.", click the link.
Select "Just enable printer sharing" and click OK .
Select Shared As: ("Share this printer" on WinXP) and type a name for the share.
Click Apply and write down the share name as it will be needed later.
To send the firmware upgrade using a USB connection:
Go to a DOS Command Prompt and locate the directory where you saved the firmware file. (To open a Command Prompt inWindows 2000 or XP, go to the Start button, then choose run, then type CMD and hit Enter, in Windows 98 or ME, go to the Start button, Programs, Accessories, then choose MSDOS Prompt). This will bring up a small black screen as displayed below:
If connected to a USB port, Type: copy /b filename \computer nameshare name (for example, copy /b ozfw.rfu \computer1printer).
Press ENTER .
The control panel displays receiving upgrade followed by performing upgrade . The download may take several minutes.
The control panel displays processing job .
The download is complete when the printer reboots and "READY" message is displayed on the control panel.

SOURCE: Canon MP610 Printer When automatic duplex

I haven't found a way to do this using the printer settings.

There is no (apparent) simple solution, but needing tp print a 56 page pdf form the only solution was to load the pdf into Adobe Acrobat and then in the 'document' pull down menu select 'rotate pages', then select '180 degrees' and also 'rotate even pages only'. This then prints OK.

The down side is that you need full Adobe Acrobat rather than just the reader.

I have been unable to rotate pages through 180 degrees in MS Word but it is possible using MS Publisher.

SOURCE: Duplex Printer prints one side upside down

If it's the same as the Brother 4070 you go into printer proerties (press properties next to printer selector after sending a document to print).  Choose the advanced tab, on this tab near the top are five buttons with icons on, the second one shows two pages with A and B on, press this to access the duplex and binding options.  In there change from "flip on top edge" to "flip on left edge"

Duplex printing in HP 2420dn on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4

According to the specs, this printer does not have a duplex unit and therefore cannot print double sided prints.
DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING USING A SINGLE SIDED PRINTER
If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printercannot print double sided pages automatically.
You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time.
First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn thepage upside down and the print Page 2.
Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for therest of the document.
I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up onboth sides of the page so it reads correctly.

How may i print for Both Side Printing?

Hi,

Both side printing depends on the printer. It's a feature which require a hardware in the printer known as Duplexer. Which automatically turns the paper and prints on the other side. Some printer may not come with duplexer but if they support duplex printing, you can but the duplexer for the specific printer and attach it at the back of the printer.

If your printer supports duplex printing, when you click on print, click print preferences as shown in the fig 1 below.

Fig1

shreysri_17.jpg

Click on finishing tab >> put a check on Print on both sides under document optoins section

Click Ok to close the preferences window

Click Ok to send the print job to the printer

Below is the series of images showing how to connect a duplexer.

My book fold booklet is printing upside down when duplexed!

You may need to tell word you want your printer to flip on the short side and not the long side. With my Canon printer I get a drop down menu IN WORD (not printer setup) that gives choice of: print one side; print two side flip on long; and print two sides flip on short.
