When driving suddenly the engine cuts out.

After removing and replacing speedo for repair in Opel Corsa Utility. When driving suddenly the engine cuts out. You can swing the motor but nothing happens. If you wait a few minutes with the ignition off and then try again the engine starts. You can then drive again and when it feels like it, it cuts out again. wait a few minutes and engine will start again?..

im having the same problem with my corsa, but i was on some forum, they suggested to check to check the fuse that works with the speedo (which also works with the *** lighter and reverse lights.) this is definitely an electrical problem

I heave the same problem on my Corsa B 1.0 2000, engine cuts out, and whe it happens, I hear one of the relay under the right side of the dash buzzing. After a couple of minutes, starts like nothing happend.
So far I manage to find that the speed sensor is faulty, when I tap him the car stops. I order a brand new one, but I'm not sure that was the issue.
I order also a Opel Tech2 tester from ebay and it has to arrive next week, then I can see the error code.

There are no codes, I changed the speed sensor, ICV and the crankshaft sensor, next is the CTS.

Sounds like it could be over heating or maybe the oil is low some are designed to not run for periods of time as a protection from causing further damage

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick

SOURCE: Opel Vectra 1998 engine cuts off in motion

A Opel is a GMC but its a good German car But the problem could be one of a few.
To start with Check the breather pipe on the fuel tank to make sure the air gets in to the tank while you are taken out petrol... It could be the coils getting hot and braking down..I could also be fuel pump in the fuel tank playing up and not pumping the correct pressure for injectors.
BUT the noise what does it sound like i must no
to help more so check above and let me know

Replaced Problem Solved. What Is Happening Is Your Key Has A Chip And That Chip Is A Resister And When The Valve Is Not Sented To The Computer It Disengages the Fuel Pump And Than Tells You To Wait. Soon All That Will Happen Is You Will Get The Wait 3 Mins And It Will Never Start, A Good Locksmith Can Take Care Of This For You And That Will Save You Some Money. Cause If You Go To The Dealer Ouch They Will Hit You Up. But I Asure This Is How It Will Happen Cause It Is How It Happen To Me

SOURCE: Car dies while driving, now it won't start sometimes

Could be a fuel pump that is going bad. Some times when fuel pumps go bad they cavitate and pump not just gas but also air. If you get too much air in the line and not enough gas the car won't start. Have a mechanic check your fuel line pressure.

My Opel Corsa dies down during driving, it will only start again after 7 to 10 mins, l have no clue whats happening.

No idea offhand to be honest i would need my head under the bonnet to know what wrong .could be anything from the gauze filter in the fuel tank on the bottom of the fuel pump becoming chocked up and leaving the car allows it to drop away to a faulty pump overheating or the contacts ,maybe even a ignition module overheating ,Best advice is ask a local mechanic to have a look for you as normally these early opel corsas with the 4 cylinder engine are bullet proof they are even valve free if the timing belt snaps .
