How to sync. an old Black Forest cuckoo clock.

The chimes and time are out of sync. How do I adjust them to get them to chime at the correct time? I have tried holding the weights while winding the hour hand but I still can't get them in sync. Hope you can help.

Suppose the cuckoo is calling three and the time is showing eleven, then to synchronize, simply stop the clock till the time is the same as the bird (three) and restart the clock at that time.

If the error persisys, then pull off the hour hand, and replace it at the synchonized time.

I have a cuckoo clock . Time is 11 and the cuckoo chimes 8 times . What do I do? It's a non mechanical clock

If the clock is chiming like this it means that the hour hand is out. GENTLY loosen the hands, place the hour hand on the hour that the clock has chimed then fasten the hands in place. Gently move the minute hand clockwise Only, and check each hour that it strikes right. If the cuckoo has a button at the back use that instead. For more information email me at [email protected]

Edward Meyer 31 Day Grandfather Clock manual

I recently bought an Edward Meyer clock from Grandfather clocks for less. The clock is beautiful, but it never chimed. I even took it apart and repaired the chimes, the hammers were too far away from the chiming rods, but now that it does chime, it sounds like someone banging pots and pans together, it's horrible. I've been looking online to find replacement chime and hammer parts so I can fix it myself.

How to syncronize time with clock chimes? Howard Miller banjo clock.

The hands on your clock are probably friction fit, meaning that they can be adjusted, possibly even without tools. The hour hand is usually a firm slip fit over a tube, meaning that it can be slid forward and backward an hour or more as long as you hold the minute hand steady to keep the hour shaft from turning.
The minute hand may be trickier to adjust. Sometimes, it, too, is a simple friction fit, and you can pop off the hand (remove the second hand and pull the minute hand straight up off its shaft) before setting it where it should go. Other times, however, the minute hand is on a keyed shaft and has to go on in one of two directions. It's still possible that someone could have assembled your clock incorrectly, however, making the minute hand 30 minutes out of sync with your chimes.
If neither of these ideas helps you, please describe better exactly how the time isn't matching up with the chimes. That will help us better understand the underlying issue.

Have a Galleria Grandfather clock thats chimes are off. How do I get them correct? Bought it at an auction and did not get any information with it. It chimed correctly in the beginning.

I suspect that the mechanism needs cleaning.

Take a look inside and if there is the slightest sign of dirt (particularly on the striking mechanism) then it should behave properly after cleaning.

Stop the pendulum of the clock exactly at any even hour. Lets say at 6.00. While clock is steady and not working, pull off the minute and hour hands off the pinion, but do not brake them. You have to pull without any twisting action. This will leave pinions exactly in place they were when you stopped the clock. When it is done - push the hour hand back onto the pinion and make sure it is pointing at 4 (not 6, as it was when you stopped the clock). When hour hand is back in place and pointing at 4, push back minute hand as it was when you pulled it off - pointing at 12. Make sure hands will not catch when passing each other (you can bend them slightly if needed). Now swing pendulum to start the clock and adjust time (clockwise only). Never adjust time when clock is chiming. Rate me, plz.

Timex westminster anniversary chime clock doesn't chime correct number

Take the batteries out from the base, where the chime mechanism is. Wait till it gets close (20 seconds till) to a specific hour time, like 8:00 or 9:00, replace the batteries for the chime mechanism. And then count the chimes at the hour. If they are correct, you are set. If they are incorrect, turn the time back 15 minutes before the hour and bring it right back and monitor the chimes again. Hopefully this should fix it. Please post the results.
