Make microphone work - Yamaha HTR-5850 Receiver

Hi There, check your microphone settings. Click volume control in the taskbar, and check microphone level. If that doesn't work, try looking in control panel with the microphone settings.

Be sure your microphone is working fine, try to reconfigure your sound device. maybe you've miss something

You need to check the Microphone setting in Skype.
Open Skype, Click on Tools - Audio Settings, then in Microphone settings click the down arrow and select the built-in microphone then save the settings.
If the microphone you selected doesn't work then select a different one.

Double click on the little speaker icon on the Desktop toolbar at the bottom right of your screen. The volume control window will open. Click on options then properties. Next check the small round recording button. Now make sure he microphone box is checked then click ok. Now a window will open that will show your microphone recording level. Move the slider up about half way and make sure to check the small "Select" box near the bottom of the slider. Open up sound recorder or whatever application you are using and try to record. If this does not work I would get an external microphone plug it into your laptop and try recording again. If the external mic works then I would think that you internal microphone is not working. There are some very cheap external mics on the market that sound very good. If you are doing any serius recording you may want to invest in a USB microphone. The USB mic should come with it's own software and setup should be pretty simple. I hope I have been helpful.

but my external microphone is not working & also inbuilt microphone is not working.

yws it will any microphone designed for the wii will, i have a few singing games and tis microphone and they all work with it.
