When I start Google Chrome, that startup shows the waiting cursor for a few seconds, after which Chrome does not start. The cursor turns normal again and nothing seemed to have happened.
The Chrome process has started however and runs at maximum processor use. This is repeated every time I try to start it. (a new process is added).
Uninstalling and re-installing did not work.
I'm using (or better: trying to use) version 0.4.154.29
You have the latest version of Google Chrome - but it is still in BETA. I'm using the same version on Windows Vista Home Premium and I haven't seen the same problem. My advice would be to use a different browser such as Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer until Google Chrome is past the BETA stage gate.
See http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
You should also check that all your Windows updates are current.
Other people are also reporting the same problem with the 64 bit version.

I had a similar problem with my chrome installation on winxp with chrome version 2.0.172.39.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and the problem went away for about 4 hours.
This time when I saw the process was running but no window was up, I set the priority on the process to high. This brought the window up, and I have not had a problem since (going on 2 days now). This does not set the priority for the process to high for every execution, just the one that is running at the time.
This is just a work-around, there is an issue somewhere, but if it helps....

That's what I figured. (otherwise I would not have been able to make the previous post)
As a web developer I have most current browsers, some in different versions.
Furthermore, I liked Chrome already so much that it had already become my default browser.
Oh yeah, it might be helpful to mention that I'm using Vista Ultimate x64
Now that's a helpful comment, I'll register also to that thread.
Chrome worked once, then stopped working. Version 1.0 on XP. (Not Beta.) Very, very frustrating. After the first time, Chrome will load but will not connect to *any* website. (Firefox and IE both work just fine moments later.) Tried uninstalling and re-installing multiple times. It just hangs then says "Snap" after it times out. I'd love to hear about a solution.
how do I get google chrome to respond again?
Everytime i start chrome a warning comes out and tells me that Chrome stopped working and must close, when a see the details it shwos that the problem is caused by BEX. I proved uninstall and install it again but the problems continues.
then i tried again 2 more times and then it didn't work
