Problems with headphone jack

I've had major problems with the audio on my tv. whenever I unplug my headphones from the tv, there is no sound. I've had to insert and reinsert the volume several times to get the sound to work. And now the tip of my headphone Y adapter broke off in my tv headphone jack. I tried to open the back panel but stopped when I saw the shock warning. It's out of warranty now. I had to buy another Y adapter, but the piece is still stuck in the headphone jack. I had to bend the adapter into the corner of the jack to get audio. But theres on sound coming from one earphone, and theres no sound coming from the speakers.

Anybody have any ideas on where to get a headphone jack? And how much one costs and how to install it?

SOURCE: i have no sound from my audio plug in's but i

hi,to add speakers from your TV you have to connect the RCA audio output into and audio amplifier.the audio output from the jack of your TV is only a pre amplified output which means you cannot connect it directly into a speakers you need to connect it to an amplifier to have a sound output ready to be connected into speakers.
If you have a audio receiver in your home theater system connect it to audio input of your reciever then select then select it with the input selector from the receiver you can now have a loud audio signal of your TV.good luck and thank you for consulting fixya.

SOURCE: Is there a way to use headphones on the 32" TV Model #VX32L HDTV1

You can purchase wireless headphones at most electronic retailers. They will connect to the stereo RCA outputs on the back of the TV. Then you just turn the volume down on the TV. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

I have a Denon 1513 that was working fine last night for the game. Got up today to watch redzone turn on clb/sat and no sound. Tuner works but no sound from tv. Unpluged optic wire from both. Help

Try plugging in and unplugging headphone to the headphone jack. This model has an intermittent problem with the headphone jack that makes the receiver think there are headphones plugged in even when there isn't. Inserting and removing a plug sometimes clears this.

No sound in headphones

Could be that your audio jack has material stuck in it or possibly the jack is bad.

Having problem with audio, with auria tv (when unplug headphones, sound will not come back on tv)

The socket for the jack on the set has a leaf connection that when you insert the jack moves aside routing sound to head phones and cutting it off to speakers= the socket for the jack is out of position inside, either needs to be replaced or tweaked inside just a little.

Not much else can cause this if the headphones work.

Cant get sound from laptop to tv

Just to verify...you've made sure that your headphones jack will play audio in lets say, some headphones, or a set of computer speakers?

However, your T.V. may not recognize audio when using VGA. I say this because if you look at the hook-ups on your T.V., you notice that most sections contain audio and video together, not seperate. If the port is available on your computer, trying using HDMI, the single cord for HDMI carries both sound and video. One last thing you can try with your current set up is find a set of the red and white rca hookups that are independent of any other grouping, in other words excluding the yellow video or any other connections. If you're T.V. wont play the sound in that, then either your headphones jack is messed up or the T.V. just wont recognize it while using VGA.

I have a set of T 912 wireless headphones. I am unable to set them up on the TV. I am using the white and red cables from the base station to the TV audio red and white. Do you have any instructions on...

The audio jacks on the TV are most likely inputs, not outputs. They're meant to take the audio signal from something like a DVD player, along with the video input on another jack, so you can play it through the TV. There isn't an audio signal coming out from those jacks, and if you connect your headphone transmitter to them all you'll get is silence. Almost all sets now have at least one set of AV inputs, but most don't give you outputs. The manufacturers figure the TV is just a display device, and not a signal source.

Unfortunately, there isn't any easy way to connect your wireless headphones if the TV doesn't have audio output jacks or a headphone connector. If you're comfortable with soldering and willing to do some modification to your TV, it's possible to add a headphone jack. Most people don't want to start tinkering with their sets, though.

If you're using your TV on a cable system without a converter box and the cable hooks right to the set, you're out of luck unless you're willing to add a headphone jack as I mentioned before. But if you have a cable converter box, or you're using a satellite receiver or other set-top box, you can use your headphones with those. These devices typically have direct audio and video outputs available on the rear panel, and you can use that audio output to feed the headphone transmitter.

What most people do these days is use a home theater receiver along with the TV. All sources (the cable box, DVD player, video game console, audio CD player, etc.) connect to the receiver, and the receiver's audio and video outputs go to the corresponding input jacks on the TV. This way, the TV is just the end of the line. The receiver also would provide an output for the wireless headphone transmitter. This system offers some advantages. You'll be able to connect the proper speakers to enjoy surround sound when not using headphones. And you'll be able to use your wireless headphones with the tuner and audio sources like music CDs when not watching TV.

My garmin 660 won't transmit audio through speakers or fm transmit. I go to audio output and it says that "Audio output can not be changed when using headphones" I can use it with headphones...

You have a problem with the headphone jack. Please see this link and read the section about BROKEN HEADPHONE JACK

http://www.sharc.net/gps_audio_repair.htm

Because there is a broken connection, your Nuvi thinks there are headphones connected at all times, so you wont be allowed to change the sound options. I've repaired this problem many times. Don't try it yourself, you risk damaging your Nuvi beyond repair.

Marantz SR7500 headphone jack stopped working

There is a contact inside the jack that is closed when the plug is inserted. Apparently this is no longer happening. This should be an easy repair for a qualified technician.
