PRESIDENT ZACHARY WITH LOW RECEIVE

Need more info, what happens when you press the PTT? Anything at all, have looked inside the mic to see if its there? Have you tried to jump it at the mic connector. Maybe a mic cable? To many things to say, from a simple relay to mic cord.

If these are stations that you have to before and had no problem hearing them then you are correct to say your receive is low. There are adjustments that can be made you check for low receive but you need the manual for the radio. If you go to www.cbtricks.com and look for the radio they also have the service manual.

Have the mic checked first to make sure wired correctly and or wires not broken where connect to plug----also check to see if same on SSB and Am.

President what? Madison, Lincoln etc.

There are many online sources to get parts and manuals,assuming you have access to a computer.

Have you ruled out the speaker malfunctioning? Try hooking up an external speaker to see if it works a bit better. Also has anyone been inside the radio before and perhaps tried to do a receive mod to it? Sometimes it can be made worse if someone messes with it. Also who is giving you the receive radio check? Is it from someone fairly close? Also make sure the RF gain potentiometer knob on the front of the radio is tuned all the way to the right. There is a pot inside the radio than can be adjusted for receive as well or some coils. You have one of the best sounding base CB radios out there. Yet some insist on messing with it. Good luck. adjust the hi and low power on side band ,also make sure you have good SWR match.

The receive is in a Galaxy DX 44V.
