Schwinn airdyne computer battery

I am replacing my schwinn airdyne batteries in it's computer, and when I put the second battery in, an error tone goes off and continues to ring until I take the battery out. This didn't happen when I bought the bike second-hand from a person who took care of it (actually didn't use it much). What's wrong? Thanks!

Battery cover for schwinn airdyne exercise bike.

You are not going to find that, even from a Schwinn dealer. If it is only a cover (provides no other function) just use some tape.

What kind of batteries does the schwinn Airdyne take its about 22 yrs old?

Most computer console batteries for Airdynes are AA, you'll have to open up the console/meter housing in the back to replace them. I will be attaching a link to a diagram of the housing. Hope this helps, sincerely SportSmith..

Error: tone when changing schwinn airdyne computer battery?

There could be a few reasons why you are hearing an error tone when replacing the batteries in your Schwinn Airdyne computer. Here are a few possibilities:
  1. The batteries may not be properly seated in the compartment. Make sure that the positive and negative terminals are facing the correct direction and that the batteries are fully seated in the compartment.
  2. The batteries may be dead or low on charge. If the batteries are old or have not been used for a long time, they may not have enough charge to power the computer. Try replacing the batteries with new ones to see if that resolves the issue.
  3. The computer may be damaged. If the error tone persists even after replacing the batteries with new ones, there may be an issue with the computer itself. In this case, it may be necessary to have the computer professionally repaired or replaced.
It's also worth noting that some models of the Schwinn Airdyne may have a "low battery" warning feature that sounds an alarm when the batteries are running low. In this case, the error tone may be a normal part of the bike's operation and not necessarily indicative of a problem.
I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if you have any further questions or need more assistance.

Battery cover & battery type for ergometer older unit

The battery cover is no longer made since this bike was last built in the late 1980's. I would recommend giving the man a timer/watch. I do have one of these little black round batter covers, and would sell for $25. However, all it does is create a timer for the rider. He already can use the analog computer to see his mileage, load, and can re-set the lower mileage to zero every workout. All the battery cover will allow is for him to set a timer for how many minutes he wants to workout for. Or he can pust the start button to time his workout. (my email is [email protected])

Battery missing for exercise bike

I have a Schwinn airdyne (model AD-3) that uses a button type battery in the count-down timer, which is above the work load indicator or the 'speedometer'. According to the manual I was given with the bike, it utilizes a 1 1/2 volt watch - type battery (LR44, A 76 or equivalent).

Hope this helps.
