Cold water screen in hose was half plugged causing it to either shut off the spin cylce due to lack of water or increase the spinning speed.
Hope this solves the problem.

High pitch whining noise happening during spin cycle. Thoughts on what the issue might be?

Worn bearing on drum. The bearing can be replaced but the machine needs to be stripped right down.

High pitched sound during spin cycle

That machine doesn't have a belt. It is more likely that you have a bearing going bad. You may also have a tub seal starting to go which then leaks water onto the bearing, damaging it.

High pitched buzz/whine during wash cycle only, spin fine

1) Make sure valve is open all the way 2) some machines have a screen inside of the hose hook up which could be clogged. 3) last check to see if it is the hot or cold by switch your selector switch on your machine to hot then cold. If one of these positions eliminate the noise then the valve in the machine is bad.

Kenmore 80 series makes noise in sping cycle

Its the transmission. Try to find a used appliance store in your town. Most save used parts and you should be able to pick up a used tranny for around 100 bucks.

Whining noise, only in rinse and spin cycle, sounds awful.

Check the pump to make sure there isn't something stuck in it.
