I have a slight propane leak on this unit. I smell propane in the base cabinet but not in the crawlspace directly under the unit, and spraying soapy water on the visible fittings shows no bubbling.
So is it reasonable to think I have a bad burner valve in the case somewhere? If so, I have two questions:
1) Is there a way to tell which of the five valves has gone bad?
2) How do I replace a valve in this model?
Thanks...
Ed
SOURCE: 1 burner flares and sputters
Hello. Chances are that something on the stove boiled over or got poured into that burner. take it off, soak it overnight in water with dishsoap added, then rinse it and let it dry before reinstalling it. Repeat the soaking in soapy water if necessary until the flaring, sputtering and black soot is gone. regards, Joe
SOURCE: gas smell from one burner
get guys back, leak test it. you can use a soapy solution like dishliquid mixed med think and brush it on connections and look for samll bubbles, make sure you have gas on to do this!!
SOURCE: Flame size will not regulate. Authorized
What other appliances work on gas? The furnace? The water heater? A gas dryer? How much propane is in the tank? I wonder how the cooktop would work on a seperate tank? If it worked perfect on another tank I would say you have a plumbing problem.
