I would take a look at the motherboard, mainly the capacitors and see if any of them are bulging or have stuff coming out of them, if they do the motherboard is pretty much bad. If the motherboard looks good, try disconnecting the cd/dvd rom drive, and remove any add in cards that are in the pc. If there is still an issue, could be a bad cable for the hard drive, or the motherboard or processor could be going bad.

start/run/type msconfig/ click startup/disable all/apply and then click services and at the bottom check the box which says hide all microsoft services// restart the computer// it will load faster//
if you have vista follow the same process after typing the msconfig in the start/start search at the bottom//
even if it is slow then 100% your computer is effected by virus//
get it cleaned by the local tech//
Yes, you can get (any) help. You must run a Registry Cleaner. It will clean your Windows registry which seems to be having irrelevant entries. You can down load one free from www.download.com or you can search google for free registry cleaners. I had the same problem and my laptop used to take over 20 mins to boot. I cleaned it with one RC and now it gallops like a new laptop.
I do not think that you have any hardware problem.
