How do I copy nv-gs75gn video to pc

I would like to be able to copy my video cassettes onto my pc. I have got the firewire cable, but I don't know what to do next as there aren't any instructions in the manual. The reason I want to do this is that I don't have a recordable dvd player and I would like to put my cassette footage onto dvds. Can you please help me and provided me with detailed instructions as I'm no the best when it comes to technology. For example, do I need specific software to do this (as the software that came with the video camera cannot be used)? If so, can I download it for free? Thank you so much.

SOURCE: putting video footage on my computer

To get your footage into the computer from DV tape you need a four pin firewire (IEEE1493 or iLink) cable from the camera to a six pin cable into the computer. USB will not do a proper job, it's for downloding photos or as you already mentioned, Web caming.

You will require a firewire cable.
Usually a 4 pin to 6 pin cable. 4 pin to camera 6 pin to computer, assuming you PC has a fireiwre socket.
PC computer have Movie Maker as part of the OS.
Connect with the above cable and you should be good to go.

I have a nv-gs140 with a usb cable. I can transfer pictures to my pc - but I don't know how to transfer the video tape to the pc?

You must connect using a firewire cable to the camera firewire port and computer. Firewire may also be called iLink or IEEE1394a.
Open Windows Movie Maker for PCs or iMovie using a Mac.
Any other video editing application will also work.

Hi, i am having panasonic nv gs-90 mini dv camcorder and the problem is how to copy files from tape to my pc. what is the procedure and which cables i need to have, hope you will reply soon

You need a firewire cable and a firewire card on your computer if it doesn't already have a firewire connector.

Then you'll need a capture software if you don't have windows movie maker.

Hope you can start making movies soon! :)

Hi how are u sir ? i have panasonic -nv-gs25 camara and i want to copy video from min dvt tape into hard disk trhough usb cable. film show result on pc but copy and paste is impossible plz help me for...

You will require a firewire cable to transfer the tape to a pc. Movie Maker should be on all later model PCs.
You will not be able to see the video like you can on an external drive. The tape must be transferred in real time. That means 30 minutes will take 30 mins to copy.

I want to download film onto my laptop from my Panasonic NV-GS50 and don't have the driver **** to load onto my computer. where can i get the software??

You are in luck! You do not need a driver for this camera to transfer video over the firewire port into your computer. All you need is the appropriate cable and some video editing software. The software can be as simple as Windows Movie Maker (if you are on a PC) or iMovie (if you are on a Mac). Plug your camera into the firewire cable, turn it on and put it in playback mode, then start your video software. Then there should be an option or menu entry labeled "import footage from camera" or "import" or "transfer from camera" or similar, depending on what software you are using.
Good luck and happy video editing!

I WANT TO KNOW AS WHERE YO PURCHASE A USB CABLE FOR MY PANASONIC DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA MODEL NUMBER NV-GS75GN. THANKS.

Most USB connector cables from any camcorders, digital cameras and MP3/MP4/MP5 devices will work ... to let you connect your camera to a computer (USB port). The difference often is in the length of the cable - not the connecting ends. Bring your camera to any electronic store, or dept store with an electronic counter, and they should have such a cable.

If u want download the video in the minidv cassette u have to use dv port which is in camera through with firewire (1394), another end in computer not usb firewire card. If u want download still picture only u can use usb. please reinstall software
