Speaker is off

Most of these combo units do not have a speaker ON or OFF setting but look anyway.

If the set has a earphone jack that may be the problem--see if works with earphone plugged in.

The socket the jack goes into can get flaky as when jack is inserted it turns the sound OFF.

Also put your ear right to the speaker to see if anything at all is heard--the speaker could be bad--but check the above first.

No sound/audio while playing tv.

Hello

If there is no audio output from your tv, either your TVs speaker or its audio output IC has damaged. You just check it with an earphone/headphone, if there is an earphone or headphone socket in front panel of your TV. If there is sound from the headphone/earphone, and not from the speaker, means the speaker has damaged. You have to replace it with same type and number. Just check your set's audio out socket, if any provided, connet it to any external audio sourse, like amplifier or so, and check whether there is sound output from it. If not, your Tv/combos' sound processing IC inside has some trouble.
most common fault is related to sound output IC or speaker itself. If speaker is found OK, go to the sound output section. This section can be easly located as speaker wire goes to that section, and follow it. Before replacing the IC, check its leads for any loose or bad soldering. i advice you to resolder all the terminals of that IC, by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge loose contacts between them. If this does not helps, replace the IC with an identical type and number. OK.

Sirs and mesdames: I have a Symphonic TV/VCR COMBO model # TVCRI3E1. The remote control part # (UREMT32SR007) is missing. Where can I find a replacement? Thanks, Ilia Rivera

Hello

Just buy one Philips Universal Remote control Model number [CL 034]. You can synchronise it with your Symphonic Combo by entering one amoung the following codes. Proceedings are also given.
Note: Switch OFF and Switch On your combo, before entering each code.

Three digit codes for Symphonic are:-
033/ 053/ 189

Four digit code for Symphonic TV/VCR combo is:-
0227

Four digit remote codes for Symphonic tv are:-
0053 0189 0227 0456 0024
Four digit codes for Funai are:-
0051 0189 0053 0227 0456 0042

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
You can also check according to the catelogue of that remote control also. The above given numbers are most common for all universal remote controls. OK.

No sound on TV but VCR is OK

Hi there, This sounds like an input control error.
If you find the menu section, then choose Av inputs, you can adjust the settings, I.e. stereo Video or Av (if you are using scart leads then choose Av.
Hope this helps, Chris

Please help!!!

Try the remote's "search" feature. If that does not work, then the remote doesn't have a code for that unit.

Hope that fixed ya...
