Canon PIXMA iP 3000: Suddenly, everything prints hot pink

....with black text. I tried replacing my magenta cartridge (thinking maybe it as leaking), and I got 20 pages of great printing. But then everything went to hot pink again. Suggestions?

Thanks!

It sounds like the cyan and yellow cartridges are empty. Try new cartridges.

Why is my Canon Pixma 4820 suddenly leaving lighter lines through color pictures.

Worn print head. And for what they charge for a stinking print head you can get a new printer for less with a warranty to boot!

Hi, my Canon printer has suddenly been printing out in warped colours since I replaced 2 cartridges. Everything is now pink. I'm doing a project on a fast-approaching deadline and would really...

Sounds like **** cartridges. there are so many bad or so called recycled cartridges about. If the work is important then buy originals. Play.com seem to be the cheapest.

I have a Canon MP560 and when I print red text it appears as pink/purple colour. Is there a way to adjust this setting?

There is no adjustment to printing coloured text. This is rather unusual. I feel you maybe using recycled cartridges and the magenta is not true magenta. I once bought a couple of so called magentas and they turned out to be orange!!

Recently replaced the magenta cartridge and it was printing everything in pink tones (but the magenta still registers full). Just replaced light cyan cartridge and now its not printing full lines of text...

I'm not really sure, but if I were you, Id work with all the cartridges. Moisten a lintless soft paper or tissue and gently wipe printhead of each cartridge. Be sure you 'seat" them carefully and securely. I think one or more cartridges is empty OR dry. See if this helps a bit.

Canon pixma ip4300 - magenta ink is recognized but not printing

Take the print head out of the machine and sit it in a saucer of very hot ( just off boil) water about 10mm deep for a minute. Take it out and sit in on a pad of paper towel to dry briefly before returning it and the cartridges into the machine. Give it a deep clean and try again. If still no good, the print head has probably had it.

MAGENTA NOT PRINTING

The other week I had the black print head clog up, requiring daily nozzle deep cleaning [a normal 'ocassional' maintenance function]. Thought I needed a new Print head, so anything worth a try.
I loaded up an old black cartridge [I load all my own......always have] with Isopropyl Alcohol and ran deep clean on that cartridge a couple of times, then repeat printed [6 times] a page full of the number 8 in about half inch character size, to get the alcohol through the nozzles. then Deep cleaned again 3 times, to wash it through the print head.

I reloaded the normal ink filled cartridge and ran the '8' page again till I got good black output. It has now been working without problem, daily, for over a week. Clearly if it's a Magenta only problem, the cleaning as described above would be a bit different, as the magenta is one of 4 colour cartridges.
My printer does quite a lot of work, and was bought at least a couple of years ago, being used daily for alpha numeric and photo printing work. This was the first difficulty I experienced with it.
Hope the above might help.Ken

Everything's magenta!

Check in your printer driver settings "advanced" section, and see what the presets are. if the RGB or CYMK settings have a slider, see if the magenta is set at 100%. If it has a slider, try it at 90%, 80%, etc until you have a less pinkish hue. You can then create a printer profile which will work with the photo paper you are using.

Different photo papers can cause hues like this.
Also, you can remove pink any unpleasant hues with most photo image editors through color correction.

It's possible that you have a contaminated cartridge...especially if it's a refilled tri-color cartridge.
