We have a pub and grub that has the Radiant systems Aloha 1220 pos with touch screen capabilities. One day the terminal behind the bar(which is also the busiest one) lost the touch screen capabilities. WE now have to use a mouse to conduct transactions which is definitely slowing down business and sales as well. Do think you guys can help me troubleshoot and try to get it upline again? The terminal is also embedded with XP Pro if that helps out any...I would greatly appreciate any help how small to help me remedy this problem.......Thanks and God Bless
Most likely you have a broken (inside the cable ) ribbone to the touch screen this can happen with age, or the handling of the system, thre is not a quick fix for these touch screens apply for a service tech on onforce.com you should be ok with one of them.
we had this happen to us as well and it turned out to be a small piece of the very tiny gasket that had dropped down and was hanging every so slightly below the frame of the screen. I pushed this back up into the frame, and the touch screen worked! This can happen with lint, gasket, or paper (if you clean the screen and a little piece of paper towel gets lodged up in there). Make it a habit to clean the terminal with air instead of paper and check for gaskets that drop down on old screens.
