My microphone sounds muffled

The C03U uses the computer's built-in drivers. You don't need to download anything.

When recording turn off things like antivirus as they hog massive amount of CPU time. Also turn off wireless links and any other background tasks that will cause audio overruns. Alsoverify you do NOT have inout echo turned on. This would cause feedback that might sound like reverberation.

You need to select Samson C03U as the Default Device. Do not select Realtek. Realtek is the sound card that's built into the computer.

Did you have the microphone pluged into a mixer before or was it directly into the computer?

i am using samson c03u to record songs using magix music maker, never had problems with it until i fell pregnant and gave birth so i stopped using it for a while. now that im back to record songs again, i started recording and everytime i playback the song i recorded, the music is fine but my voice started jumping like a pirated cd. im using windows vista and i already tried clearing the junk and re installing the programs but it still does the same thing. please help if anyone's got an insight about this. Note: Samson SoftPre is not compatible with Windows Vista however the C01U, C03U and Q1U are all Plug-and-Play compatible with Windows Vista.

go into control panel/sounds and audio devices/voice and in the voice recording and click the volume button and on the slider that's labled mic pull it up.

Try downloading ASIO4all and carefully following the directions.

To get sound in both channels in Garageband for a podcast using the G-Track Microphone:    select a voice track to record into    make sure the Track Info window is open (blue i button in lower right region of screen)    at the bottom of the Track Info window you will find Input Source:    Change the default setting of Stereo to Mono 1 (USB Audio CODEC)
This assumes you have gone to Garageband preferences and changed the Audio/Midi settings for audio input to USB Audio CODEC which appears when you plug in the G-Track Mike

The static after several seconds seems like this is a problem with certain versions of OS X. You might be able to fix it by downgrading or upgrading. Apple Forums say that it's fixed in 10.5.6.

You can double check that this is the problem by trying it on a Windows computer.
