HP Pavilion dv7-6199 cant see how much battery life i have. Its not on my toolbar.

Hi!Checkout the image..Its circled in red thats where you will find it..As for getting apart refer you manual..It is just unscrewing and pulling out to remove the plastic cover..

yes its u r mother board battery connector problem...in the mother board there is IC for sensoring DC supply..near the battery connector..plase check the IC is working properly with A logic probe.if it not working plaese replace the IC with a blower..

Oh, you must be an Administrator, right? If there is another Administrator account on the PC, it can restore your password through User Account Settings -> Manage Another Account.

If not, I have a complex way. First, restart the PC. When it shows the HP logo when booting up, press the button for Setup (it is shown at the bottom of the screen, and it is F8 on my HP tx2001au).

Now, don't get scared by what appears. It looks a bit complex, but it is very simple and easy.

Navigate using the keyboard. Press the right button to move to the Security section. Here, press Enter on the Administrator Password option. Now enter and confirm a new password and you're done.

See the bottom of the screen for the button for 'Quit Saving Changes' and the computer will reboot. Now, I guess you can enter the new password.

If this doesn't work, see online for ways to reset a password in Vista. There are some softwares to burn to a CD and use.

If it is an XP, I guess there is nothing to do. Just press Ctrl+Alt+Del on the logon screen to see the classic logon screen. Type in the username 'Administrator' without quotation marks and the password blank. Press Enter and enjoy.

Hp recalls some king of batterys, maybe yours it is on this recall, contact hp web or phone to take advantege of this recall, otherwise appears that your battery do not work you may replace it.

SOURCE: The battery out of my hp pavilion dv7-1135nr wont come out.

Ensure that you have properly released the battery.

If the battery was defective it may have shorted, melting plastic or metal, and now is in some place soldered to the laptop.
Try unlocking battery and helping it out with two small screwdrivers.
Ensure computer is off and power adapter not connected.
There is risk to damage the laptop if you do it wrong.
