SOURCE: Dishwasher not pumping the water out?

hi
the larger motor housing underneath the unit is what moves the water around to wash, the smaller pump is the drain pump, if you don't hear that running it is likely in need of replacement. check your paper work for warranty, if it's out of warranty try to find a deal online and it's relatively easy to replace

SOURCE: Frigidaire FDB740RCS0 Upper Armnot Turning

Make sure the spout leading into the top spray arm is not obstructed at all. Maybe simplistic, but could be overlooked. Just thought I'd put it out there.

SOURCE: My dishwasher is not washing dishes on the top rack...

HI,

The top rack is not cleaning because of low water pressure from the wash motor to the upper spray arm.
Assuming the top spray arms are clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm to access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter (accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken (broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary . If the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly . Remove any debris from the sump area in the process.
You don't have to shut the power off to the dishwasher because the door will be open, but if you feel more comfortable, do so.

thanks,

you may have a water problem. if you dump a bucket of water in the tub after it starts wash cycle and the extra water makes it work. check you line pressure and if thats good replace your water inlet valve.

The sprayer that hangs from the top tray fell off. How does it reconnect? Thanks.

Hello wladyka, that's a great question!

Normally, the spray arm would just screw into place on a Frigidaire dishwasher. If you continue to experience issues with the spray arm I would suggest consulting with a professional for further assistance. Hope this helps. -Matt

I try to start my GE Profile Dishwasher and nothing happens after I press start except for a click. Is my water pump busted? The dishwasher powers on ok.

Here is a list to trouble shoot your DW. Cross off each item as you go. If this is a new DW..... less than a year old..... it may be under installers warrantee and definitely is under a manufacturers warrantee. Keep that in mind as you go.

Look also at your owners manual for troubleshooting help.

Squealing sound

We have had the same problem and upon removing the main circulation pump, I found that the housing had come apart and had to order a new pump and install it. But the problem did stop there. The pump that discharges the dirty water has two stainless steel ball bearings in it and was worn out. So now I have to replace this pump also..... this needless to say, will be my last fridgidaire dishwasher. The unit is not ever six years old and might be used once a week.

Dishwasher not draining completely

I was having the same problem with water sitting at the bottom of my dish washer. I had recently installed a new garbage disposal when the problem started. You need to make sure that you knock out the inlet valve where the disposal drain line hooks up. If you have never hooked up a washer to your disposal, this piece will be in place. Stick a flat head screwdriver in where the drain hooks up and hit it with a hammer and the small plastic circle will pop out. The washer does not use any water when that is blocked and therefore will leave the old water to turn rancid...I hope this helps!

Dishasher does not drain

If it gravity drains, but the pump does not push out the water.......replace the drain pump. I just repaired an 8-year-old  Frigidaire dishwasher with this very problem, and although it sounded like the pump was operating, it was not....it was just vibrating. I replaced the drain pump and it now works perfectly. I am a service tech with 38 years experience.
