I can't eliminate the recordings

It sounds like you don't realize that you are posting to FIXYA dot com and you are talking to someone else SABC?. You didn't buy the Decoder from us and we have nothing to do with it. Are you in South Africa by any chance? No one there has any clue where they are posting. SABC = South African Broadcasting Company?

Brand and model of your vcr please.

ok, check your microphone connection . if it connected wrongly please connect it properly . 2.check your microphone recording ability by using "sound recorder".(goto start menu >programs> accessories >entertainment>sound recorder.) try to record your sound. 3.if your sound doesn't record in "sound recorder" check the audio manager.(start menu>control panel>"your audio manager") open it and check the recording sound is mute .if it is mute unmute it . if this information was helpful plese vote for me and write a comment for it. if this information cannot solve your problem plese post a question in this website . i will solve it.

Are you using a stereo patch cord to supply the stereo line in signal? (see here)
If you go to Control Panel>sounds>audio do the recording controls for your device show balance controls that are centered?
Try using Audacity to do the recording, from which you can monitor the line in signal balance and determine as you record whether you have a a stereo input signal or not.

After recording a DVD in a DVD recorder you will need to finalize the disk. You should be able to put it in the original recorder and at least be able to watch the video.
If you are able to watch the video while you are recording then you should be able to record what you are watching. If you cannot see the video when it is sourced through the DVD recorder, then you need to adjust the input.

Are you trying to record something? What's the issue? You obviously have drivers installed for the sound card if it works..

Rt. click the volume control icon from your notification area or the control panel and choose advance settings and make sure the microphone line in level is not at zero. Open your recording program (like sound recorder from Accessories>Entertainment) and you should be able to record sound input from your microphone.
