are you using windows xp? vista? 98?

I'll guess at xp.(and that you're using the windows software to connect)

Double click the wireless connection icon in the bottom right (the one that flickered when you're online.

Click 'view wireless connections'

click 'change the order of preferred networks'

Now select everything on the list and delete it apart from your own.

Now click 'advanced'

make sure 'automatically connect to non-prefurred networks' is NOT ticked.

Click close, then ok.

You should be ok now.

Regards

Tony

I did not solve the problem. I chose an easier way. I just replaced the 3Com Wireless Adapter with a NetGear USB adapter for which I have security instructions.

Kind regards,

My win 7 os cannot recognized the crusb10075 3com adapter.

1. Don't plug your WLAN USB adapter until setup finish and reset the computer
2. Download XP driver from 3COM in below link... make sure to select the correct one depending on the serial number of your adapter (starting with 0100/0200/0300)

http://www.wireless-driver.com/3com-officeconnect-wireless-54mbps-11g-compact-usb-adapter/

3. Double click and it will automatically unzip and may ask you again after unzip use recommend settings and click yes to use recommend settings and click yes to all to overwrite again the folder unzipped again but if didn't ask it is OK.
4. In the unzipped folder right click on the setup file and click properties then go to Compatibility tab. InCompatibility mode click "Run program in compatibility mode of" then chose Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and OK.
5. Click setup now and after installation finish restart your computer.
6. After reset plug you USB adapter and will take some time to install the driver.
