You have a old unit. I have made many service calls on these units. I know it is a old unit because the main control board is no longer available.

Is the problem the thermostat? How do you know? Have you used a multi-meter to Ohm it out. The thermal stat is part number 1185753. It cost $97.00.

If it is the heater. The heater part number is 1182568. The heater cost $137.00.

The rule of thumb is: " If the cost of repair is 1/3 or greater of a new unit, buy a new unit". "If the age of the unit includes parts not being available (Control board) buy a new unit".

Check out any of these universal fit sending units. They all have about the same ohms reading.

I am sending you this link because A) they have all the parts listed including part numbers and pictures. They are also a good source for parts and supplies. You might find one cheaper on the net tho. Also keep in mind that these transfer belt units are resettable by replacing a $5 fuse in the unit. If you have a local independant repair guy, maybe he can research this and reset your existing unit as they will usually go at least 2 cycles. I reset a dozen or more of these units per year for my customers.

Is this a remanufatured part?

Epson's printers have microchipsets that indicate when a unit is blown. Some remanufatured parts may still have defective chipsets that prevent printers from using these parts. Try buying an orignal part or another comaptable but new part to see if this works.

This is a 2 speed condenser fan control board, the tempstar part number is
1086071, if you google tempstar 1086071 you will receive 1 listing for the part for something like 44 bucks, but if you go to sears parts direct and enter the part number they have a factory authorized substitute part number 1088977 that you can order from them for $17.49, some tempstar units were shipped without this control unit and the 2 speed fan just runs off the contactor on high speed only to do that disconnect the control unit and connect the black and orange wires that ran from contactor to the control unit previously together, and then the fan should come on in high speed when the condenser is on. there is a kit that they shipped these control units http://icpindexing.mqgroup.com/documents/086477/48201222001.pdf, (just for you to look at) so all you really need to do is get the new part from sears or run the motor in high and get rid of the part all together, hope this helps.
