SOURCE: how do i replace blade on mountfield princess lawn

It should be a standard thread. You may need to put a shop rag into the spark plug hole to make sure the engine does not turn while you are trying to remove the blade.

no they are not left hand threads if nuts have molded washers you must use an impact gun. wash holds too much of blade surface and will not turn against it

I have a mountfield rotary mower, and i need a new blade but i cannot undoe the existing one.

are you loosening it the right way?as some have left handed threads and loosen the opposite of a normal right hand thread, otherwise take it to a garage and have them remove it with an impact wrench

Are the nuts holding on the blades reverse threaded?

If a blade, when viewed from above, rotates clockwise, it will have right-handed threads. This is because the shaft is turning to the right, and the resistance imparted on the blade will tend to tighten a right-handed fastener. If a blade rotates counter-clockwise it will have a left-handed fastener. I don't know this mower, but this is a universal thing.
