Http://www.bosch-eshop.com - enter the correct model number: SHE43P05UC in the search box on the right side, select which dishwasher you have from the results list. Click on the number of the part you need, it should show the manuf. par number on bottom.

or go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com and check there.
Once you get the manufacturer's part numbers - go to http://www.repairclinic.com - they have pictures of most parts.

SOURCE: Door falls open

Without knowing the make and model of the dishwasher, it is hard to provide specifics. It is very rare for the hinge/spring to be repairable.

Generally, the hinge and spring assembly needs to be replaced as a single assembly. If you replace one, know that the other may fail soon, so consider replacing both.

Good Luck

SOURCE: no spring in door

Hi there Mathew, yep your diagnosis sound correct to me the LG dish washers have a string with a plastic lug that conects them to the springs. The plastic lugs and known to brake off the part number for the replacement strings is 4933ED3002A you will need two of these one per side. I hope you find this usefull please contact me if you need any further asistance. Regards Gary.

Kenmore elite 13862 door falls open horizontal, won't stay up part open.

There are two spring units, one on each side of the door near the base, they use a small cable or rope on them, check to see if one or both is broken. You have to pull the whole unit out of the counter space to check it.

Why does my dishwasher door fall freely when opened?

There are springs and pulleys that assist the door. They use a nylon rope that is very thin to connect the pulleys door and springs. The rope is most likely broken.

My garage door will not open. I pulled on the emergency rope to see if that would help but it did not.

Your torsion spring is probably broken. After you pull on the emergency rope, press the remote, that should move the chain and emergency lock out of the way, then you and 1 or 2 other people may be able to lift the door up if you really need to get the vehicle out. It depends if it is a single or double door or wood or metal, how heavy it will be. This can be dangerous and it could fall down on you. Check your torsion spring above the top of the door when closed, if there are two pieces then it is broken (on a single door.) A double door will have two springs, one on each side. One may be broken. You will need to get all the springs replaced, it counterbalances the door. If you have a garage door with arms on it, then the compression/extension spring is probably broken. If you are mechanically inclined, you can replace them, it is dangerous, be sure to watch a UTUBE video on it.

A spring or something has broken in the door of my kitchenaid dishwasher. Now the door is extremely heavy and falls to the ground upon opening. How can I fix this problem? Thank you!

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

While I don`t have diagram or illustration I can give some insight because this is actually very common.

It is a fairly minor procedure to replace it/them. Slide the entire unit out from the cabinet a couple or three inches and you`ll see the plastic roller assembly and rope ( except yours is likey broke...at least one by the sounds of your description ) attached to the side.

**You`ll need to insure your connections will allow you to pull the unit out however, otherwise they - water, power, drain hose - must be disconnected to prevent any damage.**

If you have any reservation to performing this repair on your own please call in a qualified appliance technician.

The parts ( # 1059756 @ repairclinic ) come in a kit as I alluded to and will look like what I attached below...

0fda4f0.jpg

These are available at most brick & mortar appliance part locations or on-line vendors such as "repairclinic.com" "searspartsdirect.com" or "apwagner.com" to name a few.

They range in price for around $20, or you can just purchase the rope/link seperately for about $4 part # 1159210 @ repairclinic.

I recommend replacing the entire kit and checking the spring itself, if it looks ok and not stretched or broke it is likely ok...they are seperate from the kit ( # 830967 door spring @ repairclinic as well )

Hope that helps move you forward. Thank you for visiting "fixya" today.

Please take a moment and rate the solution provided here or a testimonial if you feel warranted.

Let me know if you require further assistance and good luck.

Door falls open

The side spring springs could have unhooked. Some springs connect to a nylon rope that slides over a plastic guide. The rope could also have snaped or slipped off the guide. You need to open the sides (normaly the back first) to check. This is easy to fix if you have the right tools...

The door to the dishwasher is very hard to close. The door also falls down to the floor which makes the carriage/basket fall down as well.

sounds like one or both of your door links are broken check your hinges. you should ahave a large spring and a piece of rope that attaches to the door. let me know if this helps you

one of the nylon rope which connects the door hinge to the door spring is broken.usually with time the rope wears out and break.it is preety easy fix. u have to pull the unit about half way out and look for ropes on lhs and rhs bottom of the unit.buy the rope kit(it comes with 2 ropes and plastic roller unit.). just see the one which is not broken and accordingly install the broken one.usually u dont have to install the new rolers unless they are broken.
