Toshiba Power Saver. Fatal error Code 0x7E

Toshiba Satellite P200D-12C, model No PSPBQE-027009PT laptop/notebook with original OS Windows 7, there is a message: “Toshiba Power Saver”, A fatal error has occurred, this program will be terminated. Code 0x7E

  • Anonymous Jul 07, 2012

I can log into the OS after the error and all
applications run well. Going to Control Panel - Power Options and trying to
uninstall the application completely to reinstall afterwards, despite the power
saver is in the list, it is not permitted to uninstall and I get an information
that the Power Saver is not in the system anymore, so it seems that the built
in power saver utility crashed. Perhaps there is some malware, but I get the
    original Norton Internet Security
installed on the laptop and it is "telling me" that is everything safe.

I already tried to get an updated version of the
Power Saver utility at Toshiba site, but I cannot find the model P200D 12C
    anymore.

Could someone be so kind in taking some of their
precious time to give me some additional help, so I would prefer to get a SW
solution, before to go to someone into HW as suggested by Paul W?

    Thanks a lot

Doesn't work, because Power Saver is not in the system anymore, so it seems that the built in power saver utility crashed.

It sounds like the built in powersaver utility is crashing. Assuming you can log into the OS after the error, go to Control Panel - Power Options and change to some other (or none at all) setting. And/or uninstall the application completely.

If you can not even get into windows you could try changing the power settings within to bios to disable power saving at all, and that might allow you to boot properly and then turn off/uninstall as described above.

Hi! It appears that possibly your hrad drive isn't set properly in the caddy? with the laptop powered down and disconnected locate the hard drive cover pop out the two locating screws and carefully move the caddy/hard drive BEWARE as the drive has fragile pins at the opposite end where you opened, hopefully little sliding pressure should remove. Check the retaining screws around the caddy (You'll need a small torx/philips screw driver for this) if all tight replace gently.
If you are uncertain I would recommend a technician check it for you.
Good Luck!

Satellite pro 4600 windows 98 fatal error

What OS are you running on the system? Did you recently install any hardware? If there is a recent hardware install, remove it and try powering on the system on.

If this fails, then you'll need the restore CDs/DVDs from the manufacturer. This will bring the laptop to it's factory default installation. Before doing so, I recommend purchasing a hard-drive enclosure for a laptop hard-drive and backup all important data.

Hope this helps :)
