I can't seem to sync all my iTunes music library with my new 160gb iPOD classic. Instead of auto-synchronizing with my iTunes library which has over 22gb of audio files, it stops at around 4gb then an iTunes error notification message pops up saying there's an unexpected error (-69). I can manually load my files but it still stops at around 18.51gb. Is there a conflict with the Windows Vista OS? I brought my laptop (HP Compaq Presario V3000) and iPOD to the Power Mac Center here in Manila, Philippines and they don't know what to do. I have the latest iTunes software update and even updated the software for the iPOD itself. My Norton Antivirus is likewise updated and licensed. Help me please to get the best satisfaction from my new gadget. What's the point of getting a 160gb if I can't load all my songs in it. Thanks.
I have the exact same problem with a 160G ipod and it's driving me crazy.
Our computer was struck by lightning. We have recovered all of our tunes from the old computer. However, while transferring the music the program begins to recover the music from the cds and then an error (-69) will randomly interrupt the process.

Summary
When you try to sync files to any iPod in iTunes on a Mac or Windows computer, you might see the following -69 error message:
"Attempting to copy to the disk failed. An unknown error occurred (-69)"
Products Affected
iTunes, iPod
This error occurs when iTunes tries to send files to your iPod, but a file (or files) is unusable (something is wrong with it).
To figure out which file (or files) is causing the error, update to the latest version of iTunes and then do this:
Control-click (Mac) or right-click (Windows) on your iPod icon in the iTunes Source pane, then choose Sync Songs from the shortcut menu.
Watch the display at the top of the iTunes window while your iPod is being updated. The name of the problematic file should appear in the display right before the error appears. Then remove the bad file from the list of songs to be synced to your iPod.
Select the iPod in the iTunes Source pane.
Click the Settings tab.
Select the "Only sync checked items" checkbox (please note that this checkbox is only available for an iPod configured to update automatically).
Select the appropriate item under Library in the sidebar and find the bad file in the list. (For example, if the file in question was a song you would select Music in the iTunes Source pane. If it were a video you would select Movies or TV Shows in the sidebar.)
Deselect the checkbox next to the file name.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 to update your iPod. If you have multiple problematic files in your iTunes library, you may need to repeat the other steps to remove them too.
To prevent future issues, you should delete the unusable files from your iTunes library, then restore them from a backup or reimport them from a CD.
If you're not able to isolate to any single file or if another iPod works with the same songs, then disconnect any other devices connected to USB or FireWire and try again. If the issue continues, then then try resetting your iPod. If the issue continues, then restore your iPod.

Step 1: With iTunes software, iPod users can manage their media libraries, purchase or import new content and synchronize their devices. The software has a number of convenient features, one of which is AutoSync. This feature will cause your iPod to automatically synchronize with iTunes immediately upon connecting the device to your computer. You can also set up iTunes so that you can manually sync your iPod.
Press the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys on your computer keyboard simultaneously while you connect your iPod to the computer using its USB cord. Mac users will press "CMD + Option" while you connect. Continue to keep the keys pressed down while you monitor the iTunes window. Keep the keys pressed until you notice that Auto-Sync has stopped and your iPod icon has appeared in the Source pane of iTunes. Be patient, as this could take between 5 and 30 seconds. Right-click on the icon for your iPod in the Source pane, and then select "iPod Options." Click to put a check mark in the "Manually manage songs and playlists" check box. This finishes your task and you can now manually synchronize your iPod whenever you wish by simply clicking on the "Sync" button. http://chris.pirillo.com/ipod-tips-and-tricks/

computer. Or maybe you have two people with the same computer, otherwise

multiple iPods.

Create separate iTunes libraries
can be configured to synchronize multiple players on one computer. To
synchronize multiple players, you can set iTunes to a different library for
each user to create. This will allow each user their own music and video

select "Preferences".

5. Click the "Advanced" tab and check "Copy
files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library." Press
"OK".

6. Add specific files to iTunes library. Click the
"File" menu and select 'Add File to Library ". After you have
added your particular iTunes library, connect your iPod / iPhone to your
computer with the USB cable and download files manually, or auto-sync.

Share iTunes library content with multiple users

1. Quit iTunes, find the iTunes library folder on your
computer. Click the Start menu and select "Computer." Double click on
the "C" drive. Select "Users". Click your username. If no
username is set, click on "owner." Select "My Music".
