Dim backround and display on westinghouse LTV-40w1 HDC tv

I have a very dim picture and i've tired tweaking the brightness, contrast and whatnot around but still nothing. I've managed to get the colors the way I want but the dimness is makes it impossible to play vidieo games or watch anything not extreamly well lit. What can I do to fix this? Please help.

U will have to go into service menu to set sub brightness be carefull u may do more bad than good write down all valus before atempting to adj.

Ltv-40w1 hdc has sond but no picture
Yes, I have the T-con board for $80.00 for that TV.
Mine has a broken screen... kids knocked it off the stand. So I have been striping it for parts to sell. I still have the T-con board and will give a warranty that is will not be DOA.
