SOURCE: Drain Hole for Frigidaire Window Air Conditioner

Leave it alone. DO NOT attempt to create a drain. As long as a window A/C unit is installed properly, (angled slightly down toward the rear) it will drain excess water over the rear lower lip of the unit should it get that high. Many models use some of the collected water/condensation. It gets lifted up by the fan blades to cool the coil.

Remove the front of he unit, as if you're going to clean the filter. That will give you access to what you need to clean. Use warm water and dish washing liquid to wipe off the mildew. Rinse with clear water and a sponge, dry thoroughly and replace the filter and the front of the unit.

NOTE: Before attempting any of the above. Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it.

Mitsubishi electric Mr Slim wall unit heat and air. strange smell coming out when air is on, we cleaned filters, but do not know where the heat exchange is or the the fan to clean them

Ductless split systems are know for creating a mildew looking "stuff" on the blower wheel. Try to open/move the louvers on the front of the indoor unit. By opening the "osculation blade"/louvers, you can see the blower wheel, normally blue in color. See if it has some mildew growing on it. If so, I found that a tooth brush and about 2 hrs labor does some good. I've found some aerosol spray, called mildew removal. Works great at covering up/controlling the smell. It's also possible that the unit is pulling air from the condensation drain line. These lines can for algae, and give us a sour yuck smell. To clean, use a wet vacuum, and clean from the outlet of the drain line. Hope this helps!

Can i take my frigidaire ac out of the case without removing it from the window?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to know whether you can take your Frigidaire air conditioning, model# FRA256ST2, out of the case, without removing the case from the window. Yes you are. Below are step by step instructions for removing your air conditioning from the case.

    1)Unplug your air conditioner.
    2)Take the front grill off.
    3)Remove the filter.
4)There are four panel screws, two on each side of where the front grill and filter were. Remove these screws.
5)Gently pull out your air conditioner.

For replacing your air conditioner, follow the steps in reverse. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer light status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

    -Best regards-

How do I pull out the air conditioner from the sleeve? Something is holding the middle of the louvers preventing me from pulling out the ac. Help

if its getting hung up on the middle of the louvers check to make sure nothing has pushed the louvers in ,in that spot. Also look inside after you have front cover off to make sure all screws are out and it can have a simple catch lock on the inside to avoid accidental slide out.

I see mold growing inside the cabinet where the air blows out. Can I take the front grill off without breaking it?

Hi, carefully remove the control knobs first. Then behind the knob you should have screws.to remove, Some units the front just un snaps and comes off, but do be careful as you can crack it. The mold is coming from the coil behind it. You will need to give it a good cleaning. They make a coil cleaner, but you can use 409, of a mildew cleaner. Best of luck,
