ABC Full Episode Player wont play

I used to be able to watch ABCvideos (ie.LOST) the video downloads 100% but when i hit play I get the "cant find...error" page. The same happens when I open emails, but sometimes they do open??? I really would like to watch the episodes again I have been watching episodes on line up until last week. Now it's making me install a new player. When I go through the installation process, after I click run, it does nothing. Fox is doing the same thing. Their players are both from the same company, Move Networks. I've been on their website, but there is no troubleshooting area on there. Maybe someone else will have better luck. I originally put this in the wrong place in solutions. I am trying to use abc.com full episode player. I get to the website, then the full episode player and get there but when I try to pull up an episode a blank white screen comes up. I have tried numerous times and also restarted my computer but it still doesn't work. Some of the time it even freezes up my comuter. I am able to watch full episodes on other website. I don't know if there player is down, a software issue or my computer. Any ideas?

Same problem... blane white screem then when I try to download the player I get a message that says "blocked"..I don't know what to do...I am disappointed because I really enjoyed watching shows on abc.com. Now I can't. I wonder if it is an abc problem and they need to fix it on their end?

I'm having the same problem, I can open the player where it lists all the shows but when I click on an episode of one of them to watch it never does anything it just freezes with that little busy cursor going around and around again but it isn't doing anything. I even had someone try it for me on another computer and it did the same thing on their computer!

  • missee925 Jan 26, 2009

I get the show to load, and I can choose and episode; but when I choose "standar" or "hd", I get the little white spinning circle. I've given abc feedback, and implemented their suggestions, and it still doesn't work. I'm thinking abc has a done something to the site, because I was able to watch episode 10 of greys a few weeks ago, and everysince then it has not worked for me.

Same problem! Everything works fine until I get to the screen where I choose between Standard Def and HD, and no matter which one I pick, it freezes up right after with the little spinning/loading symbol. It's so frustrating!

I have the newest flash, fresh install of vista and newest firefox. i go to any episode of any show from abc.s player and I get an error saying something about error code ad_sponsor. No matter what I do I still cannot get it to work. I reinstalled the player many times. Do you think i have to try reinstalling firefox? this is bull It should not be that difficult to watch somethig online. I mean youtube never has any problems.

I think it is because abc has really high end adverstisements running in their player. It hosted a lays advertisement that had an interface running allowing you to click on links in addition to a vidoe playing to the left of everything. I believe it is a problem from their part. They possibly did not include an ad this week or the ad has a major problem in its code.

    Just my two cents.
I would just wait it out. I thought one night would do but I think we have to wait something like a week.

To speed up the process you can send feedback to ABC from the web player. Before you choose a video to play you can hit a feedback button in the upper right hand corner of the page.

I sent an e-mail to their feedback team and recieved a generic e-mail from [email protected] that didnt help me at all. It may help you. I replied to this e-mail with more information about my situation and am awaiting response.

I found this on another site and it worked for me:

I have really been bothered by having to watch ABC shows online through a tunnel, which as of my most recent discovery was pointless. The problem isn’t with comcast filtering, there is some sort of problem with the ad system they have setup. Some of the ABC affiliates don’t work correctly and cause the shows to never start playing resulting in either a black screen or the waiting cursor circling round and round.
Assumming you have no other problems, open a new browser window or tab and enter the following URL.
http://fep.abc.go.com/fep/player?src=abccomjs&aff=kjif
That’s it, you should now be able to watch all the ABC.com online shows. The only difference is the &aff=kjif at the end. Enjoy.

Install Flash Player. If you have one, reinstall it to a higher version.

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is anincompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to aformat that your MP3 player uses. I'm running Windows XP. Using IE8, the youtube videos won't play. There is no warning or anything, just the video is black and there is no play button. On Google chrome, there is no problem with playing...

Well Sunkengarden, the videos you are watching on YouTube or any such websites are the Flash Player Applications. That means, the Browser on which you are trying watch the videos, needs Flash Player Application to be installed on your computer. Such traditionally most widely used flash players are Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft Silverlight.
While you are using Google Chrome, there is no problem just because of Google Chrome already have in-built flash player within it. But the problem remains for IE or other Browsers.
Different Web-Browsers use different types of Adobe Flash Players (IE type or Non-IE type). So, for best results, I recommend you to install both the IE and Non-IE Adobe Flash Players on your computer to have all the browsers play the videos without any problem.
Download the Flash Players by clicking on the following links:
Hope this helps,

Abc player isn't connecting anymore (lost - season 3)

If it is on your PC then it's probably ABC's server. Try sending them an e-mail and asking if they are experiencing any problems on their end.

ABC full episode player freezes at 30%

If too many people watch an episode then the ABC executives have to pay the writers too much money. So, only so many people can watch until the quote is reached.

ABC Full Episode Player wont play

I don't know if this will solve the problem for all but it did for me. I right clicked on the grey screen, selected the only available text that was there about Adobe and ended up upgrading from Adobe Flash Player 9 to 10. Closed and reopened IE7 and was able to watch the two episodes of Better Off Ted that I missed.

ABC Full Episode Player wont play

As I posted earlier, the problem isn't with any of our hardware or software. Here is some further detail than I posted earlier. Both ABC and FOX use a plugin developed by a company called Move Networks. You can go directly to their site and test the plugin, you can also test by going to Fox and viewing their videos. This tells you the problem isn't on your end, ABC has broken something on their site. This affects both macs and pcs, each of the browsers, again because it isn't related to us, it's their end that is broken. Hopefully this will save you all from wasting time trying to fix what isn't broken on your side.
