The door on my Avanti W1092f Washer will not lock and washer comes up with an error code Ed, could this be the sensor/lock mechanism which is giving me the problem?
When I turn power on the time of how long the cycle will be comes up, then after 30 seconds or so, the digital read out comes up with an error Ed. Recently the plastic latch had broken on the door, so I replaced it with a new one, but still no worky.

A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock it six times before displaying the error code. It has happened because Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door. It may also happen due to Door switch/lock unit failure. To resolve the issue follow these steps--- 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check door switch/lock unit. 3. Check the wire harness connections to the door switch/lock unit and Central Control Unit (CCU).
The rear drum bearing has failed, you need to remove the door seal, take off the belt, pulley and the drum comes out forwards. Sometimes the bearings are very difficult to remove.
