is there anything else that i can do to raise the volume on my dell inspiron 1525

  • turnitup Dec 26, 2008

everyone knows how to raise the volume by using the icon, HOWEVER, the bigger problem is that even at full volume it is still extremely low and tinny. wondering if there is a more helpful answer than "turn up the volume"

I have the same problem because the speakers are small....you can try:

-Control Panel, Volume Control
-Control Panel, Volume Control, Advance (make sure master, wave, cd, etc. are up)
-Volume control in system tray, if available
-Laptop function-key volume (Fn+F10-12, or Fn+PgUP / PgDn)
-Control Panel, "Multimedia / speaker" profile setup thing
-Volume control in media players -- open up all of the media player programs on your computer and turn their volumes up -- sometimes their volumes "stick"
-And obviously, look for any physical buttons/knobs/dials on the outside of the machine.

Try headphones if it does not help or to plug outside speakers.

Good luck,
