Picture with signal applied is purple and distorted/choppy

When no signal is applied I get a solid/static blue screen.
I'm looking for a replacement signal board for Mitsubishi WS-65809. There is a board on the signal board inside of an RF cage that I believe is the problem. When I first encountered the problem, I was able to clear it up by tapping the cage. When that no longer fixed the problem, I removed the signal board and checked the solder joints and connections. Is there someone who can troubleshoot the signal board and/or the daughterboard.

The board you seek is the doubler (2HDW) module.. a lot of time reseating the board will solve the issue. If HD still works, this board is likely you problem. This board upconverts all non HD signals to hd to put onto the screen. IF HD doesn't work, you more likely need a signal board. This board has all the settings on it and is much more difficult to replace.

Blue Screen appears

A solid blue screen usually means no signal (set not seeing signal) look to see if same on all inputs. If you have a picture but the screen is blue that is a different issue.

Answer is based on model number listed here, let me know
as much as possible.

I cant get it to work on full screen

I am having this same problem as this one above (62HM95). The issue I'm having is that it will also not work full screen. I selected the 'Split' option on the remote and the picture on the left is fine... absolutely clean and perfect, with audio. The picture on the right is completely distorted in very strange colors (mostly constant variations of purple), with audio as well. You should note, that the same video information was feed into different imputes to select for the split. In other words, I feed the cable stream into the TV using the component video (Y B R) as well as the coaxial cable and selected both options for the purposes of displaying the same information side-by-side. On screen I selected video option four (4 for color stream HD) and option (0 for cable/antenna). If I highlight either side and select one of them (4 or 0) the screen goes full screen and I see nothing but one solid color of purple. I've researched the purple and they call it 'Electric Purple'. That is all I see... just the solid purple, with the audio. What I have also noticed is that, If toggle between imputes while in the full screen option and come back to either option (4 or 0) the image plays/appears OK for about 2 seconds then goes back to solid purple. I just can't understand why this is happening especially when the on-screen menu displays perfectly fine. I cannot enjoy this TV by only watching half of it in split mode. Besides the multiple replacement bulbs I've had to buy I've completely had it with this TV

Wavy picture with blue and purple color.

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Akai lct2715 power supply repair needed. Please respond. Failure appears to have occured over several days. First picture had distortion at edges. Then blue AKAI screen would light but picture was not in...

I very highly doubt that is merely a power supply problem,I would suspect that it is a small signal board (aka scaler board) or at the very least, have the inverter boards checked

My Sony Bravia KLV-32U300A 32 in. HDTV-Ready LCD TV just lost the picture. Just see different colors. Hears static sound from the back of the unit. This was a progression. Few days ago, clicking sound...

hi..It's probably a loose cable. The first one to check is the
green connection but make sure they're all tight. RCA cables
tend to pop out part way which is enough to stop the signal.
If the green signal is lost, you get no picture. If the red or blue
are lost, you get a picture with bad coloring.

If you still have the problem check this
LOOK in the back of the TV when you have it turned on. Look in the slots near the top for a white glow coming out of it.

IF you see it, you need your signal board replaced...

IF NOT, then you need your power supply board replaced...

Sony WEGA 42" LCD TV

Uh Oh! blue screen of death. Your light engine has warped a little from overheating and is distorting the picture.

My suggestion to you is to get on the phone with Sony and start complaining, then keep complaining until they agree to pay for it. Even if it is out of warranty.
You may have to get the problem diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.
Hope ya fix it!
