Hi Cedric
Yes the chord is the charging cable and the download/upload cable.
You will plug it into the usb port on your computer for charging.
You will need Windows Media Player installed in your computer ...after it is installed add your songs to Windows Media Player, then plug your Mp3 player in with Windowns Media Player running, your mp3 player will be recognized and then you can add the songs you added to Windows Media Player.

Several things could keep your iPod's battery from charging. The major causes are listed below in logical order. Check each one to see if it's what's keeping your battery from charging. Low-powered USB port iPods that connect to USB ports require a high-power USB port.
Keyboards and some USB hubs will not charge iPod. Connect iPod directly to the computer or to a USB AC power adapter. Click here for more information. Connect directly to computer If you connect iPod to something that connects to the computer (like a USB hub or FireWire drive), connect iPod directly to the USB or
FireWire port on the computer. FireWire port on a Windows PC The FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports on some Windows-compatible computers may not be powered, and consequently won't charge iPod when you plug it in. Check here to see if the FireWire port on your PC can charge iPod. Your computer goes to sleep Your computer can only charge iPod when it's turned on and not asleep. Make sure your computer is on and not set to go to sleep when you want to charge iPod. Tip:
Some Macintosh computers can charge iPod even though they're asleep. If your sleeping computer doesn't charge iPod, don't worry, just wake it and let iPod charge. hope this helps
Some phones cannot charge from a USB connection if their charge is low or the proper drivers are not installed on the computer.
Drivers for your phone be found on this website: http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/mobile-support/mobile-lg-mobile-phone-support.jsp
If installing the drivers does not help, then try charging your phone from a wall charger. Regular sockets provide more power than USB ports, so you may need to use the wall for a while to get the battery up a bit.
Use the USB cord to connect the camera to a powered USB port on a computer. Do not connect it through a USB hub. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge the batteries.

Something could have broke off inside the connector. Try to look in side and see if there is anything blocking the connection. Tweezers can help out and pull out stuff that is blocking. Make sure that the camera is powered off. Better remove the battery to play it safe also. Check the condition of the USB cable that goes into the camera make sure it's not bent or dented. You can use a small needle nose pliers to fix that if it is.
