Here are some essential step that you have to follow. Connecting to a WLAN To connect to the WLAN, follow these steps: 1. Be sure that the WLAN device is on (the wireless light is white). If the wireless light is amber, press the wireless action key (f12). 2. Click the network icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar. 3. Select your WLAN from the list. 4. Click Connect. If the network is a security-enabled WLAN, you are prompted to enter a network security key, which is a security code. Enter the code, and then click OK to complete the connection. NOTE: If no WLANs are listed, you are out of range of a wireless router or access point. NOTE: If you do not see the network you want to connect to, click Open Network and Sharing Center, and then click Set up a new connection or network. A list of options is displayed. You can choose to manually search for and connect to a network or to create a new network connection. After the connection is made, place the mouse pointer over the network icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar, to verify the name and status of the connection.
On most routers, the WLAN light will only light up when a wireless device is connected. If the wireless feature has been disabled, then light will not turn on.
If it WAS working normally and now it is not, AND no one reprogrammed the unit to disable it, then I suggest you perform a factory reset on the unit per the owner's manual here:
do you have the drivers for your wifi card installed properly. if not then go to manufactures website and download driver software for your wifi unit, are you using xp or vista? find device manager and see interfering hardware.
You can try first connecting this device on different port and check if it will be working but if still not working, the next thing that you can do is to try this on a different computer and if still not working device is already dead...
there is a very small reset button on the unit. Press it and hold it for 5 seconds. This will reset it to the factory specs. Then proceed to set it up like you did when you got it new.
Log into the router's setup page 192.168.0.1
Type in the password, the default password is admin.
Go to wireless Security and you will see your key there.
You can reset the router to default and set a new password and encryption key. D-Link Router reset Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit. Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button. Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds. Step 4 Release the Reset button. Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting. Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults. Note: Do not recycle power during the reset procedure. The default user name for most D-Link devices is admin and the password is left blank. When it says hold for about 10 seconds, don't hold for more than ten seconds or the procedure will likely fail, if ten seconds doesn't work try 5 seconds. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe

could be interference but have you tryed to reset the device? your settings will be lost? I supose you use a encryption so your going to have to enter it again to the settings.
most of the times in your right lower corner there is an icon that looks like two arrows pointing diffrent dirrection....the name of this one is vaio smart utility..let enabled the wlan box and then try to connect it
the key number will be listed in the router settings as you must have security enabled in the router, if you cannot find it then simply reset the router at the rear of the unit and start again as there will be no security key number and all the settings will be back to factory default.
