Question about Haier Refrigerators

1 Answer

Deep freezer not freezing food and keeps making a clicking sound.

I have a Haier deep freezer model number HNCM053E that keeps making a clicking sound. My lights work on the front of the unit but it won't freeze the food. I checked the compressor model number GVY44AD R134a to see if the compressor needed to be charged but it's a sealed unit. Can you please help me?

Even a sealed unit could need recharging with R134a refrigerant.

SOURCE: freezer stops freezing

How long has this happened and when did it begin. Your refrigerator has a control board located on the back inside a panel. You may need to unplug and look for burns on that board. Let me know for sure that the model is HSM25GFTSA
Thanks, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: ice on back wall but not freezing food and rattle noise. Moved all food to other freezer

This is a fairly common problem with these types of refrigerators. The design is set to defrost every 12 hours and be down for 1 hour to allow ice to melt on coils. More often than not the ice never fully melts and creates a blockage in the coils and in turn slows air flow. You can remove the screws in the back wall of freezer unit and unsnap the ice maker plug to allow access to the coil. Gently tilt the back plate forward. You can then unplug the ref. and help it thaw with a blow drier. If you are not comfortable removing the back plate then you can just unplug the ref. and let it thaw on its own. this may take a while. try to remove as much ice as you can from the back of the freezer wall by hand and prop the door open for a couple of hours to ensure that all the ice melts. The rattling sound you are hearing is the fan blades hitting the ice that is built up around it. As a precaution I recommend that these type of refrigerators get manual defrost simply by unplugging about once a month for about two (2) hours. I hope that this will help you out with the melted ice cream. Good luck.

SOURCE: fridge not cooling, freezer not freezing, buzzing sound

with any luck this is you overload and relay
it is the plug on the actual compressor, this is very easy to replace, if you replace it and it does exactly the same thing its your internal relay and your compressor is done....

Can i defrost a piece of beef cook it slice it then refreeze it

Yes you can. If it is roast beef you might want to freeze it in beef gravy. Make sure it is sealed real good and use freezer plastic bags or if you have a food sealing device to vaccumm seal it. Deep Freeze meats cooked or uncooked last longer in a Deep Freezer as well!

Haier 5.3 Cu ft Chest freezer. power is on but compressor doesn't run. There is click sound but nothing happens after.

The click sound is the compressor starter relay closing but if nothing further happens it is likely that there has been a compressor failure
