I recently got my memory card developed at Wal-Mart and ever since I got the camera back home there is a big exclamation mark on the screen when I try to turn on the camera. I know this means card error. Any idea how to fix it?

The Olympus FE-230 requires you to use a xD M-Type memory card to store your pictures on. These are usually available fairly cheap at Wal-Mart or Best Buy. When you insert your new card into the camera, the message will go away and the screen will appear its normal brightness.

If you have a removable memory card they can do it at the photo computers at Wal-mart. If you don't have a removable memory card then you will have to get a USB cord that hooks to your phone and develop them at Wal-mart.

When you remove the card from the computer, do you use the "safely remove hardware" function? If you don't, the card can become corrupted enough that your camera no longer recognizes it.

This camera takes a differnt memory card then the common SD CARD! Wal-mart will have the right card for you or most other stores that sell cameras!That should eix ya right up!

This means that the card memory can not be read, make sure the contacts are, clean. use pressurized air cans available from most places like, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Staples, etc.

lightly blow out the memory card and the camera slot, check pin alignment, Format the memory card on your computer first and re-insert in camera. Use another card to see if error continues.

It was suggested that you remove the batteries and memory card for about ten minutes, then replace. It worked for mine, and works great now.
