Remove any disc which may be in the player. Make sure that the player is "on" (green light is "on" at front of player). Hold the "stop" button for at least 5 seconds (square symbol on the player is the "stop" button). This will reset the player to the most basic of video settings. The yellow "video" jack at the back is the basic output for video. The red and white jacks are the basic sound outputs (right and left if in stereo). Good luck.

When we play DVDs, the picture is very dark and is

Check your dvd settings, read the manual that came with it. Or you can just pump up the brightness on the tv when watching movies.

Anyways, hope this helps.

Cyberhome 300 dvd

When I had this issue it was resolved by selecting the video input on the TV. For example: "S" video, RGB, etc. And of course check all of the connections.

Cyberhome 300 DVD Player: pal to ntsc mode?

You might want to reset to factory defaults, but there is an error in the manual. In order to reset to factory defaults, turn on (with no disc inside), DO NOT OPEN THE DISC TRAY, just press the stop button on the player for 5 seconds.
