Maytag top loader washing machine stooped pumping water out

top loader leaking ?? this is unusual !! I did have a top loader leak once (not maytag) that the operator overloaded it and allowed it to try and spin dry , it shook unattended so bad it shook loose the hose connections from drum to pump , id suggest checking exactly were it leaks from with a flashlight looking at machine with back off ,while its running , use only your eyes !! for safety !

check that the drain hose is above tub level
check for faulty program board engaging the pump all the time

you need to unscrew the pump from the motor

how much water is in the bottom of the tub and is it louder than normal if so could be small droplets of water leaking from tub seal if not the pump is restricted by something and req replacement

sounds like the water pump quit working.

Is it a front loader or top?How old? What model? need more info If front loader sound like you need to remove hose from pump and cheak for obstruction in pump good luck:)

how old is your maytag top loader ? pump do not leak that often on maytag top loader you may need stem&seal kit &tub bearing kit

not really front loaders have top loaders beat all the way but stay away from admiral and maytag .a front loader will wash your clothes using the soap that your top load failed to get out if i may suggest buy a frigidaire with a mechanical timer not electronic control more junk on them more to fail the best combo in my mind is a frigidaire front loader and whirlpool dryer front loaders use 2/3 less water 2/3 less soap and will get your clothes twice as clean they have no transmissions and are direct drive the most common promblems with them is having to clean out the pumps where people leave stuff in their pockets also you need to buy soap thats for front loaders its called high effincey or he soap and they will get your clothes make sure you read the installation guide and remove ALL the shipping braces
