At work we have a lot of these 48-Key handheld mobile barcode scanners with Windows CE and all of of them with a different level of sound volume. Some of them are even muted. I seem not to be able to tab over to Windows for volume control. Everybody asked doesn't know how to adjust the volume. Even IT and Tech department fails to do so. The description in the manuals dont work either. Tried everything but no luck so far! I hope someone here has a clue and can tell me how to tab over to windows or access volume control manually. Thanks
We have 'pens' that we can use on the screen, so I was able to click on the 'Window' icon at the bottom left corner, select 'Settings', then 'Control Panel', and double-click on 'Volume and Sounds'. I only work with touch-screen guns, so don't know how to get there without the 'pen'... though finger nails have worked, but it's tough with a small icon in the corner like that.
I don't know of any way to get it to vibrate. With our gloves, we wouldn't feel it anyway. In a warehouse, having the clicking sound loud enough means we can hear if a box is skipped or an error occurs.
Do you know if there is a vibrating function as opposed to the audible beeps? We have them in our store in the shoe department and they're annoyingly loud. Customers have made many complaints about the beeps.

Hello,
Datamatrix is 2D Symbology. Actually this MC55 is a model with 1D Laser Scan engine. The laser cant scan 2D barcodes, therefore he is not decoding the datamatrix barcode.
You would need an MC55 with an 2D Imager or with Camera to scan 2D Barcodes.

Hello Mathew,
the USPS barcode is the GS1 128 (Code128) that will help you by activating accoring to the manual. Please be sure that you enable all lenghts of the Code128 barcode. That is probably the issue.

You would need an application, which can use the scanner. If there is no app preinstalled use the DataWedge provided by Symbol on their support pages.
http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=10774
You can install the whole package on the desktop PC and then connect your PDA. The DataWedge will be installed automatically.
