F9 and electric stove top elements get way to hot

Have a 13 year old Jenn-Air slide-in model SVE47100B. The lock tried to activate by itself last night while using range, then oven part quit working and panel shows an F9 code. Tried pushing each button to clear a stuck button and panel went crazy. Display started flickering and everything lit up, hit cancel and display went back to time mode and ten to F9 again. Stove top elements work still but are not regulated anymore. Burner set on low will climb in temp in approx 30 degree increments. Then temp will stabilize, drop 3 or 4 degrees and climb another 30 degrees. Burner on low had reached 370 degrees before I shut it off.

SOURCE: Function Problem

Paul, the F9-3 code has to do with the oven door lock motor assy.. Water must have gotten on to it and now the fault. There is a quick test mode on the model ending in aab, if yours ends in this try this. Unplug the oven for 30 seconds, plug it back in and press and hold the cancel and broil buttons together. It should enter test mode. When in the test mode press the clean button to see if the motor activates and resets. Press cancel to exit the test mode...Catriver...post back

SOURCE: Jenn-Air electric range

my jen-Air has a problem with it continuing to beep. Ive tried to get it to stop by pushing all the buttons. When I pust the off/cancel button it just keeps beeping. Tried the stop timer button and same thing. When I turn on either the bake or convection bake button it automatically just shuts off by itself. It is approx 10-13 years old. HELP, or please tell me to get a new one.

Just a suggestion, turn the breaker off to the range and leave off for 30 secs. This may reset the board. That's the easy way. If that doesn't help I'll try to find more on it.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air model svd48600. Gas stove top, electric

The switch for the optional grill attachment is activating...pull the tray/pan on the left side that holds the two burner grates toward the front...it should shut off. To correct the problem permanently, you'll need to adjust the position of the switch. The switch gets lose over time and slides on its mount until it gets out of range. The purpose of the switch is to activate the blower continuously when using the optional grill accessory. When you remove the left-side grates and the tray/pan the grates set in...you'll notice a protruding piece of metal on the front of tray/pan that fits into a hole in the cavity where the tray sits. Inside that hole is the switch that is out of position. Getting at the switch to adjust its position is not difficult, but you need to remove the upper front panel...KLS
