You *can* order parts from the manufacturer directly, but good luck with that. The first time I called, and mind you their 1-800 # is a quagmire of numeric menu selections before you ever get to talk to someone, they said they would be happy to send me one but they were out/backordered and that I should call back in 2 weeks. Instead of putting me on some kind of list and sending me one when they got more...Grrr! Then I tried calling back and made it, again, through the menu maze only to find out they are in Eastern time. Super frustrating!

But I also discovered that the flat head screwdriver is the best temporary solution until I can get my hands on a replacement knob!

Postscript...I called Oster again today and they told me that I could not get a knob since that model is obsolete. But if I fax them my receipt, they will send me a newer model toaster oven. Note: the toaster oven must be less than a year old as verified by either the numbers on the prong of the plug or by your receipt. Good luck.

If anyone else wants to call Oster...the number is 800-334-0759 and dial menu numbers 1, 5, 6, 3 to get to the person who can help you with the toaster oven.

I had the same problem with my Oster 6071 timer knob breaking off. My ghetto solution is to insert a flathead screwdriver in the **** of the metal rod that the plastic knob was attached to; you can rotate the rod to turn the oven on (must turn past 20 min) then use an alternative timer source (like a microwave) so you don't burn your food. Not sure how good this solution would work for the Temperature knob but it'd probably work for the Cooking Style knob also.

  • Anonymous Apr 10, 2009

amendment to my solution: ...use the flathead screwdriver on the CLEFT of the metal rod...

I guess FixYa thought my original word was too close to a curse word so it was bleeped out..

FYI Oster Toaster Oven: about 18 months ago after careful consideration we purchased a counter top toaster oven for the RV from WalMart. I have a 20+ year old Oster Kitchen Center and found easy access to repair parts a couple of years ago, very pleased.
Last trip out in the RV the timer knob stripped out after what I would describe as a couple of months of light use. Google'd the model in search of a replacement knob only to find many others had "been there, done that". The model is obsolete and no service parts are available.
The Oster customer service rep seemed finished at this point and asked if there was anything else she could do for me. I asked what I, a long time Oster customer, should do with the useless oven. After repeating the question rephrased several different ways she put me on hold.
She returned several minutes later to inform me that as a "one time" courtesy Oster would replace our out of warranty oven with a current model. The replacement unit would have no warranty or support from Oster.
She supplied the model number and gave us an Order #. Looking up the model number and checking reviews I have very low expectations for the replacement. Most comment as to the poor quality and reliability of this current model.
A perfect example of a manufacturer who once produced a quality produce but now sells cheap imported disposable products.

I did 1 better... same problem btw it's the timer knob. I drilled out the knob slightly. Then took a thin strip of metal that fit in the post and bent it so it looked like an S wrapping it tightly to the post trimmed the extra metal off so it didn't overlap. put a tiny dab of gorilla glue & water onto knob sides then with needle nosed pliers I popped the metal tab into the knob and put it on toaster letting it set overnight.
when putting tab into knob align the straight line with the post indents so the knob will work the same way (there is a top & bottom so pay attention)

I broke the plastic dail for the toaster/toast/bake/ dail. Where can i get a new plastic dial?

Contact Euro-Pro by phone at (800) 798-7398. b The replacement knobs will cost you about $10 (3 knobs and shipping and handling) Call-don't email as I got the wrong information when I emailed. You are better off speaking with a person, even if they are in India.
