Washing machine does not stop filling

When I start the wash cycle the tub fills and does not stop filling it overflows from the lid. I have to turn the wash cycle dial by hand to make it start washing.

Washing machine is filling and then stops - why?

Need more info. Is it filling to appropriate level and then stops and does nothing else? Is it not filling with enough water? Could be a lidcswitch problem. Could be a pressure switch. Could be a control problem.

Hi, my simpson eziset 950 when filling with water doesn't stop filling when the cycle starts. Water overflows all through the washing cycle. When I turn the tap of it stops filling.

there is a small tube running from the bottom of the tub up to a pressure switch in the control panel that is set by what ever wash level you want
when the pressure in that tube exceeds the pressure set by the knob it does 2 things
it turns off the inlet water solenoid to stop water coming in and then starts the wash cycle
as it is starting the wash cycle , it indicates that the stop solenoid for the water inlet is either still getting power or the stop valve is faulty
try replacing that water control valve first

Moffat washer

Your water level has a reset on the panel? You need to drain all the water out of the tub and turn the water level to the lowest setting. Now start the fill and watch the water come up. It may be that it needs to be looked at but it is just a hose on the side of the tub that fills and air pressure registers in the control panel that stops the water filling.

Kenmore 70 series wont stop filling with water to start the wash cycle

Lid off, right side circular pressure switch with black hose attached. Remove end of hose, blow down to make sure not blocked and blow into switch where hose attaches. Should click twice. If doesn't click, faulty pressure switch (replace)

I have a top loading Kenmore Washing Machine. I don´t have the excat model but looks like a KENMORE HEAVY DUTY SERIES 70 AUTOMATIC WASHER, MODEL # 110.92273100. The problem presents after finishing...

You may have 2 defective parts.
First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

Agitator starts at begining of cycle before washer is full

Please be carful as running the agitator without enough water will overheat and kick out the motor, however it should be ok when it resets itself.
Yes, the machine should stop agitating when you lift the lid so this too is part of the problem.
After looking at the print I can only suggest that the cam contacts in the timer ( contacts 12 and 14) that start the motor are burned and stuck together.

Maytag topload washing machine

Washer continues to work even if water is not filled to top and even if i try to stop continues to spin

A defective pressure switch can interfere with the cycles that depend upon the switch to indicate when water has filled or emptied from the tub. It can also result in underfilling or overfilling of the tub. The switch routes current from the timer control to the temperature switch and the water inlet valve when the tub needs to be filled. Once full, the pressure switch cuts the current and reroutes it to the motor on the timer control to continue the cycle.
