Logitech mouse causes scroll function to stop working on my computer

When I plug my wireless (usb) Logitech mouse into my computer, the volume control on my task bar automatically turns all the way up, and I can't turn it back down. Also, I can't scroll up and down through windows explorer folders, but I can through my browser. This is true even when I try and use the track pad on my machine. I unplugged the mouse, and plugged it into my zenbook, and had the exact same problem. I've had this mouse for about 3 years and have never had this problem until recently.

SOURCE: wireless mouse doesn't work

This problem was happening on my system but i managed to fix it easily! What has happened is your itouch software has become corrupt so it will only recognise your keyboard thus the usb connection. You will need to download/install off disc onto your computer again but do NOT go to uninstall program manager on windows as it will not appear there because even though you can access the itouch configuration panel, the database is corrupt and the administrative system will not recognise this. Just download/install via disc and it will just install with no alerts unlike most programs which will recognise the program is already installed onto the system. Once the setup is 92% it will freeze for a second then the found new hardware window will appear on screen go through that process and your mouse is back to normal and your keyboard will work via itouch software.
(Please note that this will only work on windows)

Mouse quit working

Logitech wireless mice operate in a slightly different technological sphere to wired mice.
Wireless mice need batteries, they need to be turned on and they need an interference-free radio environment.
One advantage of wireless mice is that they tend to function with laser or optical parts rather than a ball and wheels, so there are fewer moving parts to go wrong.
However, optical and laser wireless mice have considerations to take into account.
Change the batteries in the mouse if the mouse doesn't work.
Remove the battery cover and insert new batteries.
On the underside of the mouse could be plastic sticker with a phillips head screw (star) under it
Turn the Logitech wireless mouse on with the switch on the mouse.
Plug the USB receiver into a USB jack on the computer.
Try to use a free jack that's actually on the computer rather than one that's in a hub.
Test the jack first.
Try plugging in a printer and see if the printer is recognized--that way you know the USB jack is good.
USB jacks are notorious in that you frequently get a bad jack on a computer.

Turn off devices that are in the same frequency range as the mouse.
Logitech wireless mice operate at 2.4 GHz, which is in the same area as Wi-Fi routers and older cordless phones.
Start by turning those devices off and see if you can eliminate any causes of interference.
Test with wireless speakers too, then computer power supplies, monitors, cellular telephones and garage door openers.

Place the mouse on a flat surface that doesn't reflect. Avoid metal surfaces too.

Clicking issues on logitech wireless mouse

  • 1 Use the mouse on the same side of the computer where the Logitech USB transmitter is attached so there is a clear signal between the transmitter and the mouse.
  • 2 Check the USB transmitter that comes with the Logitech mouse to be sure it is correctly plugged into the computer. The red LED should be illuminated on the transmitter if it is connected properly. If not, the signal cannot reach the wireless mouse.
  • 3 Turn the mouse upside down to check the on/off switch. Be sure it is switched on.

  • 4 Check the battery compartment by sliding the top housing off the mouse to confirm the rechargeable batteries are installed correctly.
  • 5 Charge the batteries if the mouse LED does not illuminate. The charger cord plugs into the front end of the mouse and the other end connects to a free USB port on the computer.
  • 6 Clean the desk surface or other flat area if the mouse is not tracking. The problem could be dirt or grease interfering with the tracking ability of the device.
  • 7 Open the Logitech software called SetPoint, which manages the mouse, to troubleshoot button functions. Open the program by double-clicking SetPoint from the list of software on the computer, then click "Mouse Settings." Click the "My Mouse" tab and check (or uncheck) all the task boxes that are desired for operating different mouse functions, then click "Apply" and "OK."

My Gateway computer came with a USB connected/wireless keyboard/mouse. I am operating under MS Vista Home Premium. Suddenly the keyboard continues to function; however, the mouse is not working properly....

If its a logitech I would definitely encourage you to go to logitech.com and download the software for your devices. Logitech has excellent mice and with their software installed they run real well.

The wireless keyboard and mouse are not working.

    • Check to ensure that the wireless receiver is plugged into your computer. Press the "Connect" button on the bottom of the receiver to attempt reconnecting your mouse and keyboard to the computer. If your mouse and keyboard use Bluetooth, ensure that your computer's Bluetooth is active and detects the mouse and keyboard.
    • Check to see if the keyboard and mouse are turned on. If the power indicator lights on the keyboard and mouse are not green, press the "Power" button to turn the keyboard and mouse on.
    • Check the batteries of the mouse and keyboard. If the batteries are dead, replace them with fresh batteries and reconnect the mouse and keyboard to the computer by pressing the "Connect" button on the bottom of the wireless receiver attached to the computer. If your mouse and keyboard use rechargeable batteries, let the batteries recharge before using the device again.
    • Uninstall and reinstall your wireless keyboard and mouse drivers. Sometimes, the Logitech drivers are at fault for a bad connection. Use the Control Panel to uninstall the old drivers, then visit the Logitech website and install the latest drivers for your keyboard and mouse.
    • Search the Logitech Support Database. If your keyboard and mouse are still failing to function properly, visit the Logitech Support website and browse the support page for your product for specific solutions.

    Optical usb mouse cursor frozen

If it is a USB wireless then your operating system will not need any additional drivers. The USB port takes care of that. Windows XP and Vista support almost 100% of any USB wireless mouse including Logitech..I own three of them, never had a problem. The only problem would be the USB port itself. Which is a totally different subject. You can still also go into control panel and make mouse adjustments if needed.

    Please rate solution.
