Pratap, it sounds me water damage problem,if you are not Technitian dont try this please.give some oficial repairer.this is a hardware problem and probably problem is with PA Network IC or/and Avilma, 1.First clean board with Alcool2. after this let it dry completely then apply paste in ICs and rehot to 310 to 375c up to 12min with Hot air gun, make sure ic's and board's doesnt move on the place during process.3. after this leave board to 15 min for come to normal temperature.4. then try to charge and use to check if solved (90% of cases it solved) other 10% possibility of camera flat cable damaged cause the same problem. so Best Of Luck.

Heater will not shut off it will run 24hrs. even when temp. is above heater setting

seethis procedure and fix it. God bless you
    • 1 Connect the test leads to your DMM. Insert the black lead in the black "common" socket and push the red lead in the red socket labeled "volts, ohms, milliamperes." Set the function switch on your DMM to the "ohms" function.
    • 2 Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the space heater's back cover and disconnect the power cord from the switch and heating element
    • 3 Check the power cord for a broken wire. Touch one test probe to first one blade, then the other blade on the plug and then touch the other probe to the other end of the power cord. If the wire is working, there should be an indication of 0.00 to 0.5 ohms between each blade on the plug and a different end of the power cord. If the meter indicates "O.L." on one or both sides of the cord, the wire is defective. Most often, the wire will be broken right at the molded plug or inside the plug. The easiest way to fix this problem is to replace the cord set.
    • 4 Check between the two sides of the power cord for a 0.00 to 0.5 ohms reading indicating a short between the two sides of the line cord. If the heater tripped a circuit breaker, there is a short circuit somewhere in the heater wiring. Shorts in a power cord usually occur inside the molded plug. The short could be inside the cord set, if it has been pinched or cut. Fix by replacing the cord set.
    • 5 Check the thermostatic switch by placing one test probe on each of the switch terminals. Turn the switch slowly through its complete range. The DMM should indicate a continuous 0.00 to 0.5 ohms throughout the switch's full range of movement. An "O.L." indication here indicates a faulty switch, and you need to replace it. The reason that a functional switch could read 0.5 ohms and not 0.00 ohms is that some DMMs read their internal fuse's resistance.
    • 6 Check the heating element for an open circuit or short circuit. A typical radiant heating element will have a resistance of roughly 15 to 30 ohms. A burned out heating element will read "O.L." and need to be replaced. A reading significantly lower than 15 ohms indicates a shorted or partially shorted heating element, and it needs to be replaced.
    • 7 Reconnect the wires that you disconnected earlier and plug the heater in. Check the blower motor voltage if the heating element gets hot but the fan does not work. This is the only test that you will have to make with the heater plugged in, so use caution here.
    • 8 Set the DMM for "AC volts" and touch the test probes to the motor leads. A reading of 115 volts here indicates a defective fan motor, and you need to replace it.

Hi, I am a student, purchased toshiba satellite laptop l300d for 50 pounds, it was heating too hot within 5 minutes. Hence low price and I purchased because it has too much dust on the fan and clogged...

Try removing the battery and re-insert it then plug it and turn it on. If it's not working, try removing the battery then plug it and turn it on again. If it's still not working, you may be having a faulty power supply.

My battery charges but only lasts about 20 minutes once it says it is fully charged. Just purchsed a new battery thinking it was old (laptop is about 3 years old) and the same thing happens.

From what you describe and assuming the new battery was "new", I'd say you have an internal short which is draining the battery over a short period of time. I'd also investigate the accuracy of the battery charge indicator. Download this free utility which will give you a more accurate picture of your battery:
http://www.mioplanet.com/products/batterymeter/

I'm assuming you gave the battery a "commissioning charge" when you bought and used it?
If not, this is something you should do with all new LI batteries. This bit is reproduced from a website that sells batteries for the Toshiba satellite series:

"2. The new Toshiba Satellite a205-s4777 battery pack needs to be circled (fully discharged and recharged) three to five times to reach its optimum performance.
3. Toshiba Satellite a205-s4777 battery will undergo self-discharging when left unused for a long period of time. Thus, it should always be stored in a fully charged state and kept in a cool, dry and clean place.
4. It is normal if the new Toshiba Satellite a205-s4777 battery gets warm when being charged or used. However, please pay special attention if the battery pack becomes excessively hot. This may indicate there is a problem with the charging circuit of the electronic device. Please consult a qualified technician if necessary.
5. To maintain the optimum performance of Toshiba Satellite a205-s4777 battery pack, it is highly recommended to circle (fully discharging and recharging) it at least once a month.
6. New batteries are hard to be charged. Sometimes, your electronic device may indicate a fully charged condition about 10 to 15 minutes when Toshiba Satellite a205-s4777 battery pack is being charged for the first time. When this happens, remove the battery pack and let it cool down for about 10 to 15 minutes then repeat the charging procedure. Sometimes, the new Satellite a205-s4777 battery will suddenly refuse to be charged. If this happens, a suggested solution is trying to remove the battery from the device and insert it again. "

Hello, try putting in more expensive re chargeables. And if that doesnt work, get yourself a discharger. This machine discharges the batteries safely and allows them to fully charge to their full potential. There are more stronger batteries coming out every week, just try a couple and see how you go. Also have you tried using a different charger? Perhaps the charger may not be 100% all of these things make a difference. I hope I have helped you.

My charger displayed cold/hot pack delay during charging

This is indicating the battery is too hot to charge, usually after coming off the tool right after some hard work. During the charging process the battey heats up so if you charge a hot battery, thereby making it hotter, you shorten the lifespan of the battery considerably. If you are getting a hot/cold pack delay indication on the charger, it should automatically start charging once the battery has cooled down sufficently.

Panasonic DMC-TZ6: is it possible to have a longer exposure time than 15 minutes in the video setting, the memory card is 8 GB/ regard jorgen

It's the heat built up in the sensor that is the concern, there are some Canon and Nikon's that will go longer but those get hot. I wouldn't want my camera burning out a sensor for the sake of a video. Besides the head the battery drain is very high and the big problem is getting ride of the heat it generates.

I have a hp compaq 530C that gives an error message when start up. The date goes back to 2000 and the time is also off. Not holding memory and it seems as if the battery needs to be replaced. It stays on...

The date and time battery is normally a CR2032 which is pretty cheap. It can be found on the motherboard in a small carrier. Eject the old battery and insert the new one then set the date and time. The second problem with it shutting down after 4 minutes sounds like poor cooling on the CPU or a bad PSU.

Cooling fan runs even after motor turned off

This is perfectly natural for the fan to continue running when the motor is turned off. I have seen them run for up to 15 minutes depending on how hot the day and the engine are. If it is not cutting off at all then you may have a problem in your heat sensor.
