I have an older Coleman in wall propane furnace, Model 2343.

The pilot flame makes a soft 'popping' noise caused by a small flame that is noticeable near the top of the pilot, but coming out of the side. Could this be caused by the pilot tube being dirty, and, if so, how is the best way to clean it ?

SOURCE: How to install an igniter?

if the heater uses a hot surface igniter its a simple matter of unscrewing the igniter and replacing it with another unit. if it is a spark ignition, the spark wire is a heavy insulated wire that goes to the gap. check out white-rodgers for a replacement. if your furnace uses a purge mode get a purge cycle programmable igniter.

SOURCE: Coleman forced air furnace blower

Rmove the two screws holding the blower in place and slide it out. With the power off, rotate the wheel and inspect for debris or an impingement. If everything turns easy, you have a bad motor or start capacitor. If you have rubbing, adjust the wheel. If the motor will not turn, replace it.

SOURCE: Coleman Propane Furnace Good pilot light but feed/ignite main burner

If you have a volt ohm meter take the two leads off the gas valve and ohm out the connection should have resistance for the coil. You said you have 12 volts from the thermostat white and red in the heating mode you should have minimum 26 volts. If you want to check the transformer should have 28 volts. Almost sounding like the transformer is getting weak. You can get parts for a 20 year old unit at any HVAC parts house. Try Washer Specialties here in Wichita Kansas they are on the web. Lowes even carries Transformers. Has to be rated 120 volt primary side secondary side 24 volts and 40 VAC.

SOURCE: I have a Coleman furnace model number 7681-8171/b.

Short of being able to look at everything Its impossible to say exactly what the trouble is. Does the board have a blink code showing and a legend that says what this is? What fuel are you on NG or LP? What does the flame look like (if you can see it) IE a lot of yellow, Some orange and Blue...?. Did anyone else look at the system and the thermostat? Does it have AC or HP on it too?

The only 1 thing I may be able to offer is this. On your thermostat (if it is not electronic) there is a needle pointer that points to a number it should be around .4 to .7 if set to a lower number the thermostat will cut the unit off well before it completes a heat cycle.

Colman gas furnace wont light

Is it natural gas or propane? If propane, make sure you are not out of gas. Does it have electronic ignition or a manual pilot? if pilot, make sure the pilot flame is still lit and the control knob is turned to the "On" position. If it has electronic ignition, shut off the power to the furnace and then turn it back on and see if resets and lights.

How to turn on the propane heater in a coleman pop up camper

Hi Robert,Make sure you have gas in the tank ,first turn on your propane tank, the knob is at the top of the tank with a small arrow showing you the way to turn it on.Then on the heater you should see a red knob with the words-pilot-on-off.Turn to pilot then light it,you may have to push the red knob in-wards at the same time as you light it to let the gas come in.Now if you see a small flame stop pushing in the red knob and let it go slowly.the small flame should stay lit, now turn the knob to the -on-position and set your thermostat. If this did not help you please have a heater repair person help you to see if you may have a problem. remember you are dealing with gas this is dangerous.

Older coleman furnace in mobile home model 8631a was called by older couple who own it. Was told that standing pilot has gone out twice within two weeks never had problem before. Questioned owner if...

There is a coulpe of reasons that the pilot would go out.
1. Thermocouple is dirty, try cleaning it.
2. Thermocouple is no in the pilot flame. Look and make sure it is directly in flame.
3. Pilot dirty. Flame has to be blue not yellow.
4. At the gas valve the thermocouple comes to it. use a wrench, usally 5/16ths, or 3/8s in. and make sure thermocouple is tight going into gas valve.
5. WORST case is that the heat exchange is cracked and blower motor is blowing it out. Hope this helps. thank you.

COLEMAN FURNACE BURNER NOT LIGHTING

There is a thermocouple "wire" that is supposed to be touching the pilot flame.
The thermocouple senses a flame (hot) and allows the heater to operate. If the thermocouple does not sense that the pilot is on, then it will not allow the furnace to operate.
Bend the thermocouple wire (or the pilot tube) so that the pilot flame is touchingg the thermocouple.

That shouls work now.

The air from the fan should not be blowing through the same cxavity that the pilot is in.
If it is, then you may have a leaking furnace whereby carbon monoxide may be seeping into your living quarters.
If the fix above works and the pilot stays on after the heater starts, then there is probably no leak.

Coleman presidential II furnace blower on and off

Sounds like the flame sensor. But it could be the thermostat. Is the furnace standing pilot or electronic spark or hot surface ignition. I would start by checking thermostat. Turn power off to furnace take thermostat off wall and take wires marked r & w and connect them together. Turn power back on if furnace works then change out thermostat. Most eclectronic ignition Furnaces have a flam sensor, You could take flame sensor out and clean it up with steel wool or wire brush. If you need anymore help just reply back .

Coleman Presidential II mobile home furnace. When burner lights the blower cycles on and off instead of blowing constant through burner cycle.

Is this furnace standing pilot or electronic ignition. If standing pilot i would check furnace filter then the thermastat. To test themostat first turn power off to furnace. Take thermostat off wall and take wires labled R & W and connect them together.
